The high profile Hollywood actresses had first lent their names for fragrances. The companies created a fragrance and marketed with the celebrity name on it. Now the trend has changed somewhat as these successful young women want to actively collaborate with the design team and come up with something they are proud to put their name on.
Katie Holmes, the Hollywood actress is the most recent example of the growing trend. She has collaborated with Italian design house ”Valextra” to create luxury bags. She came up with her own ideas and interacted with the design team. The result has been a calf skin tote bag which would be retailed for $3,950 as per reports carried by Femalefirst. The 32 year old actress was very impressed by Valextra and their team of designers and craftsmen.
Katie found their quality to be exceptional. She equated the people in the team to artists and was taken in by their dedication and integrity. The tote bags designed by her will be released under a new label “Holmes & Yangâ€. Jeanne Yang is supposed to launch two versions of the calfskin tote. One design will have the color combination of white and navy where the other will be in white and black. Both the versions will sell for $3,950.
