The Swank Launches Roberto Cavalli’s 40th Anniversary Book, Donates Proceeds to Art in Hospital

The Swank launched Roberto Cavalli’s 40th Anniversary Book. Cavalli is the Italian fashion designer from Florence who had to face sharp criticism from the Hindu community for images of Hindu goddesses in a line of feminine underwear. The Swank has nurtured the local fashion scene in Hong Kong and is the first luxury multi-brand fashion house in Hong Kong and has been introducing fashion brands from around the globe for over 50 years now.

They were the ones who had introduced Cavalli to Hong Kong 40 years ago and to celebrate and commemorate the occasion the Swank has released the book in support of the Hong Kong based charity Art in Hospital. Mert and Marcus have photographed the series featuring in the book. The series of 200 photographs present the past 40 years of Cavalli style through some of the most beautiful women of today.

Jennifer Lopez, Cindy Crawford, Heidi Klum, Gisele Bundchen, Natasha Poly, Maria Carla Boscono, Lara Stone and Carolyn Murphy are some of the big and beautiful names that appear in the book. Only 30 copies of the book are available at the Roberto Cavalli IFC boutique. The book has been priced at 988 Honk Kong Dollars and all the proceeds from the book will be donated to Art in Hospital, who help develop art in Hong Kong’s hospitals. The guests at the book launch were also treated to a preview of Cavalli’s Spring/Summer 2011 collections.
