Hublot, the Swiss watchmaker is a highly respected brand with a long history of luxury watch making and has carved a place for themselves right at the top amongst the most accomplished watch makers in the world. The brand is now owned by the French luxury conglomerate LVMH that provides it the platform to reach out to a much larger customer base. It has given them the strength to experiment, be bold and push the envelope in terms of design. And moving ahead in that direction Hublot has unveiled the most expensive watch in the world.
They have breached the previous record by quite a margin as the new watch created by them carries a price tag of $5 million. It goes without saying that the best of materials have been used to make the exclusive watch. In fact over 1,200 diamonds have been inlaid on the dial and the body of the watch to enhance its beauty and value. Six pieces are particularly beautiful as each one of them is over three carats individually. The case and the strap of the watch have been crafted out of white gold.
The watch will be on display at the biggest watch show in Basel. The show opens today for the public. Jean-Claude Biver, president of the watch company is justifiably proud of the new creation. He is confident that the record created by his team is difficult to break as this watch has used the most valuable materials and the surface of the watch is limited. A team of 17 people worked for 14 months to create this watch which has a total of 140 carats of diamonds on it. Mr. Biver let the media know that there have been enquiries from potential buyers who would like to acquire the most valuable watch.
