Gilt Groupe, the luxury ecommerce site that has created a benchmark for the industry with its private sale model has extended its platform with Gilt City. This new extension is now available in 11 cities in the US. They have further created an exclusive offering on their Gilt City sites called the Gilt City Insiders program. In the past four months the program was launched in Boston, San Francisco, Dallas and Washington, D.C and now Miami becomes the fifth city for Gilt City Insiders. The program was launched in South Florida this Wednesday.
The exclusive deals offered under this program offers 30 to 60 % discounts on an array of upscale shops, restaurants, spas and other beauty-oriented spots. Gilt Groupe has roped in Internet marketing entrepreneur Loren Ridinger to curate the first set of online deals. James Wark, lead curator for Gilt City South Florida, explained that the program brings together the members of the community that represent their brands. And Loren, as an insider will function as a voice for the site. Through the insider program the members of the site will get a chance to live the life of Loren.
Loren Ridinger has a long experience of online shopping as she is the senior vice president and co-founder of Miami Beach-based online shopping portal marketamerica.com. Motives by Loren Ridinger; the skincare line, Cellular Laboratories; and the jewelry collection, Loren Jewels are some of the brands Loren has created over the years. She believes that this program is all about curating things that she loves, things that are fashion, great entertainment, great restaurants and just beautiful things.
You can access the first set curated by Loren on Wednesday at www.giltcity.com/miami. A second set will also become available on Friday. Caitlyn Carpanzano a Gilt City spokeswoman informed that the deals offered on the site will be all in limited quantity and will be available for only one week or till it is sold out. The first set of offerings includes yoga classes, BLO Bar, Sobe Tan, Cowshed Spa, Mr. Chow, Rik Rak, Nail Bar, Isa Boutique, Curve Boutique, Casa Tua, The Forge, and American Airlines Arena. The idea is to put together a basket of offerings for the people who haven’t had the chance to have these experiences or just haven’t had the time. Gilt City is turning out to be another success story for the Gilt Groupe.
