Bottega Venetta To Launch Its Signature Luxury Fragrance This July

Signature leather goods giant Bottega Venetta has set its sights on the luxury fragrance market. On 17 July at Harrods UK, the firm will launch its maiden venture in the world of luxury fragrances. Bottega Venetta and Coty Prestige collaborated to create this heady new fragrance that was conceptualized by Bottega Venetta creative director Thomas Maier.

In keeping with Bottega Venetta’s image as a creator of elite leather products, the new luxury fragrance will have a leathery and floral scent. Developed by expert perfumer Michael Almairac of Robertet, the new fragrance will have notes of oak moss, Indian jasmine sambac, pink peppercorns from Brazil, Indian patchouli and Italian bergamot.

Maier found inspiration for this perfume in an old countryside home in Venetto, Italy. The scents of old wooden floors, leather-bound books, and of grass, hay, moss and flowers combined in Maier’s mind to give rise to the idea of this signature luxury perfume.

Everything about this perfume shouts “luxury”. Even the glass bottle in which it is available is the creation of Murano glassmakers, the same company that glassed the home collection for Bottega Venetta. The bottle is simple and elegant, just like Bottega Venetta’s image as a creator of splendid leather products.

This does not rank among the costliest perfumes in the world, but Bottega Venetta’s special edition perfume does not come cheap either. Selling for $395 per 3 oz., the signature perfume will be available at only Bottega Venetta’s 165 boutiques around the world. Fans could also pick up creams, body lotions and shower gels alongside the perfume.
