It has been only four years since Ellen and Portia bought the 12,000-square-foot main residence for $29 million. Since then, the couple has bought up several adjacent properties to ensure more privacy and to extend their living area. The property is currently on the market with price tags of $60 million for the entire estate and $49 million for only the main residence.
The main residence has three bedrooms including a master suite, an underwater swimming pool, a fitness center, a rustic open kitchen and an outdoor living area. This luxury home also has another cozy living space adorned by several artworks. There is also a sunroom overlooking the garden and housing a large grille and wood-burning pizza oven. In addition to this, the property includes a number of outhouses, which includes guesthouses and staff quarters. Plus, the garage here can host between eight and ten luxury cars.
Ellen and Portia exchanged wedding vows within the confines of this beautiful California luxury home in the August of 2008. Since then, the couple has been residing here with their four cats and three dogs. However, the property had its share of notoriety earlier this year, when a woman was arrested for trespassing on the grounds.
In recent years, Ellen has been on a lucky streak in the real estate market. She has been buying and selling several ranches in the Santa Ynez Valley region and will be hoping that her good run continues.
