After several hectic months of battling deadlines and grouchy co-workers, a luxury spa vacation sounds like a dream come true. And some luxury spas are more indulgent than others. A case in point is ESPA, the spa at luxury hotel Leela Palace Kempinski in Udaipur. ESPA recently won the award for “Most Luxurious Hotel Spa in India” at the recently concluded AsiaSpa Awards.
The hotel’s management admitted to being “proud and happy’ about the recognition and promised to continue creating luxurious experiences for their guests. The award should bring this Udaipur spa in the limelight. The AsiaSpa Awards are known to bring global recognition to outstanding spa facilities in the region. And awards like these encourage spas to inculcate higher standards of luxury. An audit firm looks through the nominations and helps in the processing and validation.
The Leela Palace Kempinski is a relatively recent entrant on the hotel scene. The property, which opened in April 2009, stands on the banks of the Lake Pichola and is a heritage structure offering fantastic view. ESPA is located in its courtyard and houses fragrant tents and treatment rooms amid trees and gardens.
Udaipur appears to be in the spotlight of late. Fairly recently, another luxury hotel in Udaipur, the Leela Palace Hotel took home the title of “Best Luxury Spa in India” at the 2011 World Luxury Spa Awards. The World Luxury Spa Awards take into consideration a variety of factors including votes from spa guests, customer feedback and votes of an expert international panel of professionals from the industry.
