Katie Holmes Teams Up With Valextra For A $4K Luxury Handbag

It has become common for celebrities to lend their names to fashion brands. Sometime ago, Kate Moss partnered with Longchamp for the first time to create a line of colorful vintage bags. However, most people cannot afford bags designed by celebrities. The price tag attached to celebrity handbags is usually beyond most budgets. A case in point is the recently unveiled line of bags by Hollywood actor Katie Holmes. Being retailed at a price of nearly $4K, these handbags reinforce the perception that living the celebrity life does not come cheap.

The new line of handbags was designed by Holmes and stylist Jeanne Yang’s fashion line, Holmes & Yang. The duo have so far concentrated on women’s wear and children’s clothes. This is the first time that the pair has ventured into the world of accessories. Their new handbag design, for which they have collaborated with Italian leather goods firm Valextra, could be their first attempt to enter the accessory market. Holmes is known to be a big fan of Valextra bags. Incidentally, this also happens to be the first time that Valextra has collaborated on a design line.

Holmes & Yangs’ luxury designer handbags were unveiled last week. The designs are chic and simple, but with plenty of detailing. Available in two color combinations (white and navy blue or white and black), these designer handbags are crafted out of luxe lambskin. The price is just shy of $4K, and stands at $3,950. The bags are set to retail exclusively out of Barneys.
