If you happen to visit the 2009 Auto Shanghai Exhibition in China then, don’t forget to take a look at Peugeot RD concept design, which is displayed on the same exhibition as a full-size model. Carlos Arturo Torres Tovar of Columbia who has just graduated from the National University of Columbia is the designer of the car. His concept car won the project in Peugeot’s 5th Annual Design Competition.
The theme for the contest was “Imagine the Peugeot of the worldwide Megapollis of tomorrow”. The main innovative operating feature of the Peugeot RD concept car won the competition for its phenomenal features. It provides high road-holding ability with ease of use in congested traffic. It also has an environmentally friendly electric motor, paranomic vision, voice-message driving assistance and a heads-up display system.
Besides the combination of the sensations of a 3-wheeled scooter with the driving pleasure of a saloon car, the car also retains all the essential functions of both modes of transport. Carlos received a cheque for 10,000 Euros and an Xbox 360 game console for winning the competition.
