Vintage Rolex Price Smashes World Record

vintage-rolex Vintage Rolex Price Smashes World RecordHow much would you possibly pay for a time-piece on your wrist? True a lot many luxury brands for watches are floating around, but the latest auction for a time piece could stun many. We sure have heard of bejeweled, crystalled and Swarovskied watches that cost the moon, but this auction saw prices hit the roof and bring in record breaking bidding, throwing recession worries out of the window.
The vintage Rolex in question, Baguette Diamond Cosmograph, was made originally in 1985. By watch manufacturing standards where designs have been changing every possible day, it can be considered vintage.

The Geneva auction was conducted by Antiquorum, billed the world’s leading watch auctioneer that brought in a total of 360,000 Swiss Francs which translates to roughly $ 315,000. Under the hammer were 481 timepieces, but this one saw some fierce bidding. The auction saw a lot of potential interest from Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Russian Federation and the United States, besides internet based interest.

Not without reason. The watch is an extremely rare piece, very fine and water resistant, is made of 18 kt yellow gold wristwatch, bezel set with 28 baguette diamonds and its dial set with 240 diamonds and nine sapphires.
