By now the dedicated shoppers must have realized that the size of the mall doesn’t matter but it is the sale and quality of the available products that define its popularity. At the same time the floating news is that shopping malls positioned abroad are growing bigger and bolder than ever. Out of the lot, Chinese particularly are habitual of adoring their gigantic shopping centers, as China is always in news for having the bulk of the world’s largest malls –counting the world’s single biggest: the South China Mall.
Sited in Dongguan, China the South China Mall that was opened in 2005 spreads over 7.1 million square feet of leasable area. True, it has reached the pedestal of being the world’s largest mall but it fails to convince me as the territory includes wind mills and theme parks, which to me sounds nothing less than but being over smart. Question remains what is its square footage of actual shopping?
