Singer Jessica Simpson was recently seen flaunting her new engagement ring at the Dillard’s department store in Kansas City, Kan., to promote her clothing line. The man in her life is star NFL player Eric Johnson who has been dating her for the past 5 months. Simpson’s engagement ring has a 4-carat, oval-shaped ruby stone flanked by two diamonds with a gold ring.
This ring is from Lane, a Los Angeles jeweler who is known for his celebrity bridal clientele. Interestingly, Simpson’s ex-husband Nick Lachey had proposed to girlfriend Vanessa Minnillo just a week before with a giant Asscher-cut diamond, Jewelry expert Gus Davis of New York City-based Camilla Dietz Bergeron said that this ring was a rare vintage piece, circa 1900, costing atleast $100,000. He also said:  “This is a ring that will never go out of style and resonates timeless elegance. Original rings from this period are very hard to find, especially a ruby of this size and quality.”
Simpson had worn a traditional pear-shaped diamond while she was married to Lachey. The couple had starred in the MTV reality series “Newlyweds.”They split in 2005 after three years of being married. It is not certain, however, when Miss Simpson will become Mrs.
