Honda is one company that believes in innovation. They are into making cars, bikes, robots and what not. And it is not they are venturing into anything that comes their way. The quality is great too. If you didn’t know, they have also ventured into aircraft making. The Honda Aircraft Company recently completed the first flight of its FAA- conforming Honda Jet.
This aircraft is Honda’s advanced light business jet. This test flight took place on December 20, 2010. The aircraft was airborne for 51 minutes. During this time period, the aircraft’s flight characteristics and its performance was analyzed by experts. An entire system check was also done. There might be a few more tests like this before they start making more of such models. Honda is in the meanwhile also building their aircraft production facility on its Greensboro campus.
The work is in progress and is in fact nearing its completion. Each HondaJet aircraft will have an approximate price tag of $4.5 million. The company hopes to begin delivery by 2012. Let us see whether Honda makes a mark for itself in the aircraft business as well, like it has in the car business.
