Exclusively.in Launches a Luxury Travel Vertical to Broaden its Appeal and Boost its Sales

Exclusively.in is a private flash sale site for members only. It deals predominantly in fashion, jewelry and home decor from Indian artisans and designers. The travel site seems to be inspired from Gilt and like their Jetsetter they have expanded into a new vertical offering luxury vacations, luxury travel tours, stay in luxury resorts and various luxury travel discounts. The focus of this new vertical will be luxury travel in Asian countries. Traditionally the site has been dealing mainly in high end ethnic Indian apparel as well as scarves, jewelry, handbags, crafts, paintings, photography and other home goods made by Indian designers. They claim to bring the highest level of Indian design and workmanship to the world, which was previously only accessible to a select few who could visit India multiple times a year. The flash sale site was launched in June 2010 with headquarters in New York City and New Delhi.

Sanjay Guleria, the CEO of the site said that it was the feedback from their loyal customer base that encouraged them to provide a unique way to explore Asia with luxury accommodations but at attractive prices. The luxury travel space is hot with exclusive flash sales site for men and several other sites like rue la la. Luxury travel deals are always in demand. People are looking for newer destinations and luxury resorts. And this site promises to give you the luxury vacation experience of your life.

At the moment, Exclusively.in is catering primarily to the Indian diaspora but it is putting in its best efforts to broaden its appeal to the main stream audience. In November of last year, the company announced a $2.8 million round of institutional and angel funding from Accel Partners India and Helion Venture Partners. The site is growing fast and is already the largest online Indian apparel retailer in the U.S. Luxury travel deals to exotic locations will help the site to broaden its customer base and retain the loyalty of its existing members.

Exclusively.in will soon be expanding its reach and start selling in more countries including Canada and England. Though the base of the site is still small but it is growing at a significant rate of 50% month on month. They might be able to accelerate the growth rate further when they start operations in newer locations. The travel vertical is sure to give a boost to the overall sales figures of the site. And more importantly, it will transform the site from a niche player to a mainstream operator.
