This is the work of the Confrérie Horlogère, which is a division of Hublot that makes all the complicated watches. Attach it to you million dollar platinum bracelet or wear it as a pendant it surely will add that gothic charm to your personality. The opposition of the shine of the titanium bullet head to the frosty black aluminum base makes the ‘Liberty’ look like a real bullet. It has two time displays, a roller display and an analog display.

Pocket watches are some of the most old fashioned and cultured devices that one cannot get rid of. Just like the brooches and pins made of gold, a good pocket watch could actually be a family heirloom. This time around, the Breitling for Bentley collection which was unveiled at the Baselworld 2010 could be the hottest pocket watch, and has already received rave reviews.
It is dedicated to the founder of the British car manufacturer Bentley.

Breitling combines craftsmanship with exquisite performance and the pocket watch is almost aristocratic in nature. The watch comes with some of the most sophisticated complications in the Horological repertoire. The Breitling for Bentley collection includes pocket watches that reveal the date, day, month, leap years and moon phases.

It comprises of 700 parts and thanks to hand polishing, chamfering, and Côtes de Genève it looks really ultra modern and yet old fashioned. Walter Owen Bentley would be glad to know that he has been remembered and the 18-carat yellow gold case is just icing on the cake. There is no information about the price or availability yet.

Who had thought that there would come a day when watches will be devoid of a dial, but they would still be able to show time! This avant-garde creation has not only challenged the basic physics but has taken it to a whole new level, that is digital!

The designer Jihun Yeom has named these watches Aurora. They have nothing in place of the dial, but a glass piece. On being touched, two laser beams will be produced from the inner periphery of the dial and will enable the user to watch time. The red beam represents the minutes hand and the blue beam indicated the hour.

Though it is a very cool innovation, but it still has to prove itself in the consumer world! At least the conventional watches could successfully hide the hairy wrists with their big dials, who would like to reveal his hairy wrist anyways! It seems that this will be a big hit amongst the kids.

It might as well have a hard time making all the office goers its fan, as the glass display is no good when taken out in sun. Besides, it’s not worth being paraded before your peers, and they might burst into laughter if they aren’t tech savvy.

Few are the occasions when you get to merge philanthropic work with your passion. Watchmaker Hublot and the band Depeche Mode are offering you just that.

The duo is going to carry out a one of a kind auction of twelve unique versions of Hublot’s Big Bang. The bidding for the same begins on February 8th and terminates on February 24th. All the proceeds will be donated to the UK’s Teenage Cancer Trust on February 26th at the penultimate concert of Depeche Mode’s ‘Sounds of the Universe’ tour in Düsseldorf.

These 12 exquisite pieces are absolute stunner. The watches will, each bear the artwork of one of Depeche Mode’s twelve albums. The captivating perks include an intricately designed presentation box consisting of the original album artwork, a framed gold CD, and a photograph signed by all contributing members of the band.

Hermès has certainly learned to stay in vogue. The new collection of wristwatches launched by The Hermès will satisfy every man’s fantasy to wear bright colors. This design not only retains the classic ‘clipper’ but also blends the funky colors with the classic chic.

The watch comes with a sturdy metal timepiece which is connected to the jazzy wrist bands. I might have exaggerated the colored wrist bands (in case), but you don’t need to worry as the colors perfectly compliment the metal in the watch. The SIHH held on 12th January, 2010, gave a platform to various upcoming and established brands to display their watch making skills. This event was marked by the presence of brands like Cartier, JeanRichard, Girard-Perregaux and many more. Though the watches were placed at extravagant prices, but they were completely worth it!

All the watches in the exhibition had a macho look it to, but the new dazzling range dished out by Cartier had a feminine side too. This Cartier Captive Range of watches comes in two sizes, a 35mm wide size and a 52 mm wide size and completely justifies the ongoing fashion trend of wearing large ‘wrist-covering’ watches!

There is an added attraction in these ‘up-to-the-minute-’ watches by Cartier, which is its design. It has a chain like emerging from the plate of the clock. This watch is studded with stones which superfluously reflect light and can never go unnoticed when you are with your friends.

The report’s sixth edition, compiled by luxury digital marketing firm IC-Agency with support from Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie and watch magazine Europa Star, has said that demand for luxury brands has upped by 14 per cent in 2009, despite recession.

What’s more? It says emerging markets make up 12% of global demand for luxury watches on Internet. Throwing light on the all growing might of internet, it says Facebook has become the biggest online community for watch fans, with over 300,000 declared fans. Hublot is the most popular brand on Facebook with 56,000 fans.

The survey covers 10 key markets, including emerging ones such as Brazil, Russia, India and China. This is besides the   top export markets of US, Japan, the UK, Italy, France and Germany.  Sachin Tendulkar leads the ranking of the most searched for luxury watch brand ambassadors in the study, adding India to its scope. Fifty five per cent of the searches concern the Indian cricket player, pushing the 2008 number one Jaeger-LeCoultre and actress Diane Kruger to second place.

In coming years, it is likely other ambassadors from emerging markets challenge Hollywood actors and renowned athletes, the report said.

Steven Holtzman, founder of Maîtres du Temps reveals that the watch comes with central coaxial hours, minutes, and chronograph 60-second counter; tourbillon and day of the week roller at 6 o’clock.

Thanks to chic sculpted red-gold hands against the raven-wing black of the dial, you would have one of the most legible ways to tell time. It comes with amazing red-gold design that shall surely take any horology lovers breath away. Some of the coolest features in the Chapter One are tourbillon, mono-pusher chronograph, retrograde date, retrograde GMT, and two rolling bars which allow you to know the day of the week and the phase of the moon.

This is a limited edition model that shall surely be bought very soon, if you do not hurry. There is no information about the price but considering it is by the famed company, you could expect it to be on a higher side. Xetum is not the name of a newly discovered planet in the solar system but the name of a watch brand that has just made its foray in the luxury market. There are two models – The Tyndall and Stinson watch lines – to win you over. Both of these have a 40mm wide steel case and bear a combination of brushed and polished finishing. One gets to choose from a range of dial colors, which is a great idea if you want to mix and match. Again, being clean the dial is very legible and by consequence, pretty cool!
