The mankind has always been fascinated by the future whether it’s been philosophers, writers and scientists, of course. Sci-fi fans intend to take it to an all new level altogether. Retro-futurism is the form that is the current favorite with both geeks and connoisseurs. And if you have the moolah (apart from the zest, of course) then you must definitely check out the Shipwrecked Submarine Home Theater.
A fascinating concept, this one is really the play room of Wayne Eyre (no relation of the famous Jane Eyre) who went on to spend a huge $100,000 on this submarine complete with plutonium-leaking torpedos.

Hugo de Ruiter has designed a stunning chair for brand de Sede Switzerland called the DS-166. Now, as drab and boring as the name may sound, the theatre chair is quite a delight to own. Well, it not only packs up enough cushion to keep you in the lap of comfort but it also adds a certain magic to your TV room.
Again, it is easy to swivel around in this furniture unit. The ergonomic design will just not let you get away from this one. For all you know, you might be doing almost all of your businesses while sitting on this one. The cocoon shape of the D-166 actually wraps itself around your body.

Our lives have become increasingly private with the result that we have to deliberately plan and interact with our friends, neighbours and relatives. And if space is the problem, we can simply arrange a weekend gala on a terrace/garden. Having a portable video projector with built-in DVD player and a screen or a white sheet of cloth will complete what ever was missing from the gathering.
This is exactly what a couple of people near Harlem did to celebrate. They all got together on the common terrace of the building along with an Epson MovieMate 72 projector. This reminds me of my University days when students would sit on strike and play inspirational movies on the projector in the lawns. It was such a thrill, huddled together to have a glance amidst noise of sloganeering.

But in case you are planning to organise your won white sheet theatre, be prepared for the vagaries of nature! It will be advisable to have a back up plan in case of rains. One must also protect the screen from high winds or it will be blown away!

What is the most you can do to watch your favourite sport? What did we all do during the last Cricket World Cup? At most, we were faithfully glued to our television sets. It’s amazing how much passion people have to utilize their hobby into something more than that. Ever thought of making a custom-built home theatre for your kin and kith?
Our featured hero got this idea and fixed a deal with First Impressions Themed Theatres Inc. to make custom-designed home theaters. It took more than $300,000 and a hard work of four months for this dream to materialise. The designer of the project and company owner Jeffrey Smith created a never before wonder by having a floor that vibrates. In his words “the floor doesn’t stroke the walls or the concrete beneath… It enlarges and contracts with air pressure, so that when the subwoofers jolt in, you can feel the whole lot coming up from base of seats.”

All this looks wonderful with light blue LED lightings, the concealed bass absorbers, omni diffusers and strategic deflectors, enhancing the sound and the visual of the set up. The theater chairs are fully motorized having Granite drink holders and condiment trays. And when ever you may wish to hit the bar, its right behind you in its green marble-topped glory, and christened as “buddy bar”. Mr. Smith has been sensible enough to the other people in the household and made noise from leaking into the rest of the house, next to impossible. So, your husband and your children can be having a happy brawl over the score while you may be peacefully enjoying your book in the other room.

Residents of non-urban geography are known for not having tasted the flavor of art, even from a distance. And fault is not from their end as the ritual is that art with a high standard makes an entry in the metros and capitals. Respecting this, fashion brand Hermes and architect Didier Fiuza Faustino have together made efforts to design an artcraft. Christened as “the H Box,” it is seen as a high-art mobile museum (a nomadic object) that takes inspiration from 1970s spacecrafts. The entertainment zone of the H Box allows its viewers to watch art movies, avant garde productions by chic and noir directors and producers such as Dora García, Su-Mei Tse, Judit Kúrtag, Yael Bartana, etc.
The mobility feature attached to this H Box enables its proud owner to carry it to any part of the globe. The designer targets Japan, as their next stop-over.

When filthy rich folks Tony and Penny Caciolo were busy picking needful for their home theater setup, they took a call that the look and feel of the home should homage of their preferred place on Earth: the Italy segment of Epcot at Disney World. And they met success as the home has fallen up to their expectations’. This horrendous arrangement comes packed with forged storefronts and what appeals like the champagne room from a Staten Island strip club. And if you aren’t aware then the pool offers a swim-under waterfall that leads to a cavern with a LCD TV within. For sure, the guys are thinking strongly to confirm something.

The Italian room comes equipped with a huge screen of 135 inches with a “Bourbon Street Room” in the basement that looks complete with an installed 170-inch screen and a full bar. No wonder, it deserves the tag of home theater as every single room, floor or portion has a pre-installed screen. Enter bedroom and you may have to face the 110-inch drop-down screen and 1080p projector and to add value to my aforementioned statement, do consider the 20-foot screen positioned on the side of the house for pool performance.

Spread over 15,000 sq ft, the house would offer a similar feel of a long walk that you end up making for visiting the nearby theater. One thing I wonder, how empty this house is despite being stuffed with the luxurious crap.

There is no dearth of intelligent and revolutionary PC mods and the very mention of another one hitting the market makes me wonder about the PC modder behind it. Thanks to their level of creativity and utter enormity of their extravagance in their ardor to overhaul those lackluster rectangular boxes (otherwise called conventional PC cases). The case in point today is The Reflection HTPC (Home Theater Personal Computer) by Wolverine. It offers a stable combination of required hardware and other technical specks. Its powerhouse consists of an AMD 4850E dual core processor, 2GB Corsair memory, two Seagate Barracuda ST31000340AS HDDs plus a Matrix Orbital GX Typhoon USB LCD.
Aren’t these features sufficed to categorize it amongst Home Theater PC? Once installed, it would surely rule your living room and mar the sundry thingamajig sporting there.
