Ages have passed and we have been living with a hidden belief that we should discard those disturbing arched CRT screens and TVs, but Microsoft (being a mogul) has a different viewpoint this. Having unveiled fancy Surface touchscreen table; the mastermind now wishes that it’s time to move back to curved displays sporting complete 360-degrees of imagery. Featured after the jump (video running above) is a Surface Sphere prototype, a colossal ball that is accessible via company’s Surface technology but applicable this time on a globular interface and display. Comparatively advanced technology and hardware is required to run the Sphere as idea is to warp the pictures along with the interface so that it offers quality visibility when projected onto a dome.

As a ploy, there is a possibility that these cool applications may have potential to develop an interactive globe (as functional in the running video above), hence putting you across various permutations to device 360-degree videos and panoramas.
