Time and again, all the beauty and fitness conscious have been bounced off with words – eat well and sleep well to look good. And no one understands that better than Dita Von Teese who has now collaborated with brand Moschino to create a pink silk-satin sleep eye mask.
A rather rare concept considering the eye masks of yore were primarily black minus the strappings of any design of decoration. The eye mask by Von Teese is made from pink silk-satin that has a spotted lace overlay with “trompe l’oeil” eyelash style of detailing. Plus there is a generous sprinkling of rhinestones which also form the words – Dita for Moschino. It comes in an attractive matching case.

As our lives get more and more rushed, the need to unwind and to get a refreshing sleep are top on most health lists. And technology has busied itself to ensure the twp for us. Spec Computer has evolved a sleep analysis gadget called the ZZZ Checker. This one is a step ahead of the Sleep Tracker and Zeo Sleep Coach of yore as it does not require to discomfort you by being worn, it uses audio and visual sensors instead. It’s equipped with a microphone and an infrared sensor to collect sound. So, if you toss and turn in sleep, snore, grind your teeth, the ZZZ checker can know it all.
So through you nap time, the ZZZ records the number of hours and minutes you have spent in sleep, dividing them in three categories – light, medium and deep, all depending on your body movements when asleep. You have the option of reading the data straight from the screen or you can transfer it to your PC via USB for detailed graphs.

Don’t we just love it when designers get inspired by nature! So, whether it is the amoeba-like Koochy Sofa by Karim Rashid or the mammalian Tunk Suspension Lamp by Dima Loginoff, they prove to be a value addition to our modern lifestyle. We already know that egg shape is back in style, as a symbol for birth, warmth, shelter and sustenance. First we had the delectable egg chairs and now it is time for an egg bed called LOMME (light over mind matter evolution) . Designed by Gnther Thnys under the brandname Thony Projekt, this innovative piece of furniture aims to re-invent sleep.
The egg shape is doused with all the ingredients for a refreshing sleep. Having studied the science of sleep for two years, you can bet Thnys is an expert. That explains the senses of sound in the fully integrated stereo system with iPod dock in a protective sound-damping arc of the shell.

The following news is a clear example of the initiative taken by production companies to prove that there has to be one world’s most expensive tag is every category. Whilst I covered 80 such world’s most expensive things beginning this year, the list demands a frequent updating. It may seem strange but truly the creation of a 22 carat pure gold bed linen is a blown up extravagance. Those having a spare amount to burn can feel this luxury. Designed by the house of Charlotte Thomas, this unique and pricey collection is targeted at richer pockets.

Delivering the extreme in night-time luxury and classiness, it is completely handmade with 22-carat gold sewn into the premium merino fabric. Every single piece is supported with a refined Indian silk jacquard and harmonized by Egyptian cotton sheets counting 1000 threads. A need for an elegant and graceful pillow can be fulfilled by spilling over 1,200 ($2400). This very well proves that one needs much more than a roof and pillow to have a sound sleep.
