James Bond gives way to only one person. No prizes for guessing because it is none other than his creator Ian Fleming. The author is in news as his personal 1954 black dial Rolex Oyster Perpetual Explorer I goes on display at the National Watch & Clock Museum in Lancaster, PA. It is believed that this very watch was the real inspiration behind all the stylish Rolexes worn by the world famous secret agent.
The exhibit in reference will also be showcasing several other watches worn by 007 in both Fleming’s novels as well as Bond movies. For example, the several Submariners like he one sported by Sean Connery in 1962’s ‘Dr.No’ to the most tricked out magnetized version with a built-in rotating saw blade-equipped number from ‘Live And Let Die’ from 1973.

The watch’s frame has been made in white gold with a width of 40mm. Two rows of diamonds line the whole structure with Arabic numerals in black enamel. Even the dials are made of diamonds. The whole presence is appropriately complemented by the white strap in leather. There is one more model that you might take a look at, this one has the numbers in blue with a little difference in the arrangement of diamonds along the frame of the watch.

‘So much for an actor, that too such a sexy one’, you might wanna say! No wonder Orlando Bloom’s Rolex watches are getting all the attention they need even before they go on auction on June 11. We are referring to the three timepieces that come from the actor’s personal collection to be a part of Antiquorum’s Important Collectors’ Wristwatches auction in New York.
We have taken a liking for the rare 1973 Explorer II Steve McQueen watch, which is treasured by all Rolex aficionados. Bloom wore this one estimated to be at a price between $10,000 and $15,000 with a leather cuff bracelet. But we will not be surprised if it goes away at even a better price.

Unveiling the 2009 collection, Rolex reveals the Rolex Datejust 36mm. The simple steel watches with white gold bezel carry a fine elegance that is as simplistic as it is elegant. Also available with yellow gold bezels, the Datejust 36mm is named so because of the 36mm case that has a background in lush soft pink, silently declaring ‘lady’. A design of stars and flowers splatter it showing two big and bold hours that contrast with the date and Rolex logo at the 12th hour position.
