In this age of iPods and cell phones with mp3 players, not many people own a radio and the thought of buying one will have you immediately declared most square. Then again, the people who would consider you made for thinking of buying a radio have probably not heard of the Human Antenna.
The Human Antenna was designed by Florian Krautli as a graduation project at Design Academy Eindhoven this year and it looks nothing like what you would expect a radio to look like. The radio includes a carpet that requires the individual to prance upon it and act as the antenna for the radio. Step barefoot upon the carpet made of conducive thread and work to get the signal just right.
Just like the pull-out antenna of a retro radio, the individual standing on the carpet will receive the radio signals making it possible for you to listen to the signal. Unfortunately, the carpet looks way too comfortable to try getting some radio signals on and will give you ideas that have nothing to do with a radio
Check out the video of the radio in action.

Brionvega apparently thinks that everything Retro is still cool and can be revamped and repackaged to suit the modern home with futuristic appeal to it. It is hard to fault them though when one takes a look at the RR226. The fact remains that the 60s and 70s are still remembered by many as the golden times and the fond memories encourage people to buy modern stuff that is styled in Retro. Then there are folk like me who have watched the re-run episodes of stuff like ‘Happy days’ and ‘Different Strokes’ and think that the bright colors and snazzy designs of the Retro Times are fun to have around. No matter what the intent is, the old Radiofonografio designed by Castiglioni Brothers in 1965, is back with a new look.

The day is eagerly awaited when all the concepts actually turn reality! Think of a form of an umbrella that can not only be your defense weapon or a wi-fi enabled accessory but can also be usedc to transfer data via its Bluetooth feature. Yes, if that unbreakable umbrella, futuristic wi-fi Pileus umbrella or latest touchscreen and Bluetooth enabled umbrella meets reality than there won’t be anything called wish list.
The Bluetooth umbrella concept with a radio feature by Mikhail Stawsky stands on top to keep you dry. It is accessible to answer calls and talk via the Knob. I am doubtful if it needs to be attached against the ears. The touchscreen display features usual choices like answer/divert and volume.

The incorporated radio functionality allows you to recreate Singing In The Rain and enjoy the company of your loved ones from a distance via this umbrella.
