The ideas for creative designs also come from the most mundane and strange places. The House Arc designed by Joseph Bellomo from Palo Alto was inspired by a bicycle rack!

Bellomo also designed the Tube Arc which he had drawn up for  Bike Rack and that became the inspiration of his tubular structured prefab house. The prefab House Arc would be constructed from steel or lightweight carbon fibre and is covered with a layer of plastic coated with a solar film that would power the light sources. A House Arc of 800sqft would cost about $100,000.

LoftCube is one such prefabricated living space which can be placed on top of a roof with the help of a crane.

It is an architectural design that is based on Japanese space saving strategies. It is stylish and chic, and also can be transported to any location in the world. However, they are best used on roofs in big cities as it would save a lot of space.

The mobile Lounge Box can be set up easily within half an hour and is quite portable since it is only 16metres when closed. The Box products can be leased or bought and the price is available upon request to the manufacturer.

The Paco takes after the style of innovative designing of prefabricated homes which are beautiful and creative. Paco is a prefab cube which made its first appearance at the Happa Gallery in Japan. Designed by Jo Nagasaka in collaboration with the Schemata Architecture firm, Paco is designed to exists within some other space. All of 3 square metres, Paco has all the essentials of a home: kitchen, toilet, shower, hammocks for sleeping and folding tables for any other work.

Paco also features a top that can be opened up convertible style for extra ventilation. Currently, it is being sold at $68,000. Quite a hefty price, but then style always comes at a price.

Designed by Jure Kotnik Arcitekt for ConHouse, the 2+ Weekend House has been made especially for housing and office purposes. The house is made up of two rectangular containers stacked on top of the other facing opposite directions. This gives the upper floor the novelty of having a terrace thanks to the roof of the ground floor. It also provides shade for the porch of the ground floor. This tit-for-tat formation house may take a moment to get used to from the outside, but the interior with wooden floorboards and circular staircase is extremely appealing.

Prefab houses usually end up looking as a pathetic second to the real thing but the 2+ Weekend House certainly does not intend to come second. Designed to add or subtract floors depending upon the needs of the user, the 2+ Weekend House would grow with your family or company.
