Lady Gaga is known for her quirky behaviour and androgynous lifestyle. She is a gay icon and wants to be the next Carmen Miranda. However, she isn’t all that great and just because she is rainbow friendly doesn’t mean I m going to like her more than other talented icons such as Madonna and Kylie Minogue. She recently performed on a Damien Hirst-painted piano at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) in Los Angeles.

They celebrated their 30th Anniversary and some of the attendees included Pharrell Williams and Japanese superflat master Takashi Murukami. The piano which Lady Gaga used was auctioned off for $450,000. I am sure there are many fans of Lady Gaga who would like her for her infantile music and quirks that seem barely campy though she tries hard to be so.

She is also one of the best selling artists these days but paying $450,000 for a piano that she played on is simply too much to believe. It should not sound like a rant but Lady Gaga could learn a thing or two from Madonna and make better music. However, there would be many who would disagree with me and these are just the opinions of one blogger. It should not matter much.

For once, we found a luxury piano that is a wee bit geeky too. I think that art can be done with a piece of clay also. It does not have to be Swarovski or pearls to be called an artistic creation. With pleasure, I am going to tell you about Jon Kuhn and his latest piece of art. Jon is a leading glass artist, who has recently joined hands with the B�sendorfer to make a glass piano using various types of glass work. It has nearly two hundred intricate designs in which more than one fifty pieces have been used in every design. That means that it uses more than 3000 glittering pieces of gorgeous glass. Coming for $1.2 million, that is not very modest but then its art!

Pictured above is an 8ft 11in Model D grand piano that belongs to Sir Elton John (circa 1971) and comes in a burr maple wood finish with virtual cross banding on square tightening legs jointly with toning concert adaptable stool. After its completion in Hamburg on 27 September, 1971; it was shipped to Steinway & Sons in London where Elton John inked a neat deal with it and installed it at his Woodside dwelling in Windsor. Now this antique item has reached the Bonhams auction house and is anticipated to generate sales ranging between £35,000-45,000. It is the same instrument that Elton played for BBC TV’s ‘Top of the Pops’, performing ‘Don’t Go Breaking My Heart’ with Kiki Dee in 1976.
