We had not heard from ST Dupont’s side for quite sometime. The reason is quite obvious. The new product from the pen carries the elegance and charm of Shanghai. No wonder it was so busy trying to capture the city’s exotic magic. This one is a limited edition has been crafted in art inspired by classical Chinese painting all combined with art deco motifs. The stunning collection inclides you Neo-Clssique President fountain or roller pain as well as ink, pen holders, cuff links and even a belt.
We are informed that each of these creations is nothing short of a collectible and has been laid on a layer of black Chinese lacquer. A covering of gold dust lends an elegance that we do not think can be surpassed. As for the belt, several sparkling diamonds adorn the buckle.

Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary on October 2nd also marked the launch of a new Mont blanc pen that has been ‘dedicated’ to the famous man’s legacy. Now, many people might have obejected to this rather unexpected gesture coming from a luxury brand because Gandhi never really lead a life or believed one with riches. Nonetheless, let us introduce you to this range that was unveiled by one of Gandhi’s grandsons – Tushar. Dubbed Mahatma Gandhi Limited Edition 241, this one has been made in 18 carat gold and has an engraving that depicts Gandhi setting off on the salt march (July 1930).
The price is huge at 17K Euros. And if that is a bit out of range for you, then take a look at the fountain and rollerball versions of the same pen for approximately $3000. This one is a limited edition with only 241 commemorative gold fountain pens. Gnadhi’s signature and a saffron-colored opal adorn each of the pens. Then there is the 26-foot golden thread accompanying the pen to be wound around it, this one recalls the spindle that Gandhi used to weave for a simple cotton cloth.

We are not encouragers of smoking but yes, we do like to talk about related luxury items, if not for anything else but for the sake of collecting! Well as cheesy as that statement is, let us quickly introduce you to the new S.T. Dupont Place Vendôme lighter and pent set than really made us talk in that manner. This one comes from the makers of the most expensive lighter in the world, so you can very well expected some of that to rub off on this latest product.
S.T. Dupont claims to have combined luxury and homage by etching out the most well-known examples of the 17th Century French architecture all on to a lighter. Apparently, the French firm was most inspired by Place Vendôme; a building originally commissioned by King Louis XIV but now functions as a hub for the most high-end French jewelry.

The most popular God in Hindu mythology gets embellished in the fashion arena. No, it’s not Lord Ganesha but his daddy Lord Shiva that we are talking about. His shape and splendor has been transformed in a spectacular writing instrument by famous luxe pen maker Caran d’Ache. This one has been created entirely in hand from 800 solid silver. The somber finish is distinctive as the sumptuous pattern evokes a mystery and symbolism of the Shivaiite tradition.
Definitely a limited edition, this pen is part of the Artiste Collection. The makers are tight lipped keeping up with the legacy of Caran d’Ache to never spill the beans on their technique and craft.

The landing of Apollo 11 on the moon has just become an excuse now to dole out one luxe item after another, in commemoration of the historic event. Not that we are complaining! This once is the famous brand Fisher Space Pen Co. which has decided to launch a limited edition of AG7-40LE Space Pens. With only 1000 units in production, this pen is trying its best to justify its exclusivity. We are told that it is the replica of the historic anti-gravity model pen.
There is a piece of ‘Kapton’ foil floating in its water-clear acrylic dome sealed into the pen’s cap. For the uninitiated, this foil was used as a protective thermal insulation on the Apollo 11 Command module. Boy, and if that wasn’t enough for the space die-hards, this rare pen is finished with blac titanium nitride and also has detailed engravings of the pen’s serial number as well as the names of the Apollo 11 crew in 24-K gold.

This one is their masterpiece. An exclusive and exquisite pen designed by the oldest most prestigious makers of pen in Italy has had the world spellbound. Believe it or not, but this gorgeous instrument for writing has around 2,000 ‘4C’ De Beers certified diamonds on a two hectogram solid platinum barrel, which, by the way, has a double tone shade because of being rhodium treated. An 18KT gold nib complements the brilliant design.
Believed to be the most expensive pen in the world, the price of this pen has not been made open to the public. But experts have calculated it to be close to 1 million Euros. And what adds to the beauty and enigma of this pen, is the fact that every year only one person gets to own it with a personalization with their coat-of-arms, signature, or portrait.

This shall take your breath away. Just one look at the Caran d’Ache 1010 pen and you will know just the reason why. The Swiss baublemaker claims that the pen is a tribute to the special genius of watchmakers.
Aptly called 1010 to symbolise what we call ’smiling time’, this stylish pen has non-working gears mounted on a sleeve just under the pen’s transparent surface for funsies.

“The pen is mightier than the sword” wrote Edward Bulwer-Lytton. Little did he know that in future it will be ‘costlier’ also than most things! While it might disappoint our friends who have leftist inclination, the fact is, that pen, once considered a weapon of the intellectuals, has now become a status symbol. Well I am not going to crib or cry about that. If we can spend millions on our silly whims and fantasies, splurging on the good ol’ pen does make sense to me. ( to be taken with a pinch of salt!)
The new Maserati sterling silver pen is designed by none other than Armando Simoni, the true blue native of Italy. Only thing is, he makes a rinascimento in luxury goods! A total of 1,914 pens is all that the company is launching, in memory of the year when the company was established (1,914) as a status symbol.
The pens are available in roller and fountain both. The roller ball costs $2500 and the fountain one is appropriately priced at $2750.
