Rolls-Royce Ghost launched
Posted in Automobile, Luxury Car on 7 September 2009

P90051022The Rolls-Royce Ghost has formally been launched post much speculation since the Paris Motor Show in 2006, when Rolls Royce had first made the announcement. Codenamed RR4, the first sketches were released in the spring of 2008. The design is inspired by contemporary furniture, architecture and yachts. Ghost is stylish and less traditional.

The forerunner to the Ghost, 200EX, was unveiled at the Geneva motor show in March 2009. “200EX is a modern execution of timeless Rolls-Royce elegance, breaking with some areas of tradition but retaining the core values that make our marque unique,” said Chief Executive Officer Tom Purves.

Legendary Citroen Had A Designer Birthday
Posted in Car on 14 October 2008

Citroen

Citroen turned 60 recently and that obviously was a reason to celebrate. So, fashion house Hermès designed a special edition just for the Paris Motor Show on October 7th. The idea was to further highlight the car’s friendly and generous forms. Though some did have problems with the extremely gaudy crime-against-taste look of the Bugatti Veyron Fbg par Hermès, the more pedestrian 2CV was a total hit.

There was another extra frill that won the car some brownie points. Yep, the leather and cotton canvas paired with the bone-interior completed the timelessness of the vehicle, two things that are no longer found in modern vehicles. The birthday of this legendary car is also being honoured by the Citè des Sciences et de l’Industrie in Paris. An exhibition was opened on April 15th and is scheduled yo run til November 30th this year.

Aston Martin One-77: World’s Most Expensive Car Blends Immaculate Art with Extravagant Style!

aston-martin Aston Martin One-77: Worlds Most Expensive Car Blends Immaculate Art with Extravagant Style!

Aston Martin is a name that brings to mind the images of style, stability and a class that stands apart from the crowd. There is also one other important thing that it brings to our thoughts and that is big numbers. Anything Aston Martin is going to be at the high-end of the price zone and generally the price tag is going to be a tad bit larger than most others to accommodate all those extra zeros. This  1.2 million Aston martin One-77 sure takes the meaning of the word expensive to a whole new plane.

The Aston Martin One-77 is termed as a fusion of art with Aston Martin craft as it blends a timeless sense of tradition with a futuristic flashy design. The carbon fiber chassis, all-aluminum body and the 7.0 liter V12 engine that can hit 200 mph with ease make this car a collector’s item. Only 77 of these will be made by Aston Martin and already they have 100 applicants for it (Phew… And they say that the economy is sinking!) The technical details of the car are still to be disclosed in detail, but you can bet that this will be an impeccable work of automotive masterpiece.

So why do they call it One-77? People at Aston Martin just thought that 75 was a bit too boring for a limited edition number. When the veil comes off this stunning sizzler at the Paris Motor Show, you could bet we would be gasping for breathe. So, if you are listening Mr. Santa of North Pole, you could maybe pick one of these up and drop it in my living room come Christmas. Though if Santa gets his hands on this one, it is more likely he will swap it for his sledge rather then give it to anyone…

EcoRide Over Ultra Thin Lumeneo Smera

Lumeneo Smera

Measuring 8-feet long and just three feet wide stands this extremely compact Lumeneo Smera two-seater. What all contributes to its erection today? Surely, two electric engines (one for each axle) allow the vehicle to propel at 80 mph for over 90 miles on a single charge. The lithium ion technology used here is similar to one used in cameras and phones and can be charged within hours. Considering the surging cost of the gas and the rising population, vehicles like this would surely rule the minds of people and roads of city for a long survival.

This gas-less, tiny Lumeneo Smera would be exhibited at the Paris Motor Show in October bearing a retail price of $31,000 to $46,000.
