A wonderful restaurant that is halfway up a Redwood tree and is shaped in a stunning fashion to create the perfect harmony between man and nature- Sounds more like a page out of a fairytale story coming to life, than reality. But that is exactly what Yellow Pages in New Zealand is trying to do to convince its customers that they can help complete any project you undertake. This awesome treehouse dining takes inspiration from nature and is housed in the heart of some stunning natural panorama.

The design of the Treehouse Restaurant is inspired by nature in more than just one way. Its unique shape is something that is quite obviously natural in the plant and animal kingdom. Much like the cloves of Onion, the cocoon that protects a butterfly in its tender stage and the sea shell that is home to many sea creatures, the design is all about stability, symmetry and beauty. At the same time it offers the perfect protection from elements as it is a design tried and tested by ‘Evolution’.

The selected site and tree had to meet a myriad of functional requirements -18 seated people and waiting staff in relative comfort complete with a bar; web cam and stills, have unobstructed views into the valley and entrance to the site and structural soundness. Then you needed the 60 meter treetop accessible walk way to complete the project. All in all, this is one Treehouse that you would not want to miss.

Hi-fi technical stuffs become great accessories in a modern home decor. And what better than those ubercool speakers that will surely become the reason for your neighbour’s envy! Providing for especially those who can’t settle for anything but the best, a New Zealand-based company called Arvus Loudspeakers has come with an exclusively stylish loudspeakers aptly titled ‘The Prerenaissance’.

The speakers are priced at $140,000 and are available in wood, painted, carbon fiber, and stainless steel finish options. I shall talk about the particular style option I liked the best. In the wooden look, the speakers have a very earthy yet stylish feel around them. If what we hear is correct, then each speaker has hundreds of man hours reflecting in the unmatchable design.

And the sound technology offered is a perfect match for the expensive looks. With 6 channels of amplification, the speakers can make up a total of 3000 watts RMS. Well, what more could one ask for!

Yes, this deserves a presence over here as it claims to be “the world’s first practical jetpack” by a New Zealand born Glenn Martin, 48. Not coming from the movies or comic strips, the $100,000 Jetpack made its first visibility at the EAA AirVenture, the colossal yearly air show. The flying gear is an out product of Glenn’s 27 years of efforts invested in developing such a device. Measuring five-feet tall, its rotors are sheathed in two bulky channels with an appeal that of a cupcake. Standing on three legs, the Jetpack comes equipped with twin rotors and 200-horsepower engine that generates 600 lbs of thrust and can be piloted 30 miles within 30-minutes with a fuel-gas tank populated with around five gallons.

Functional via a joy stick-like control, it demands a spill over of few $$$$ from your deep pockets along with 15-hours of training session in order to take you fly one of Martin Jetpacks. And if doubt the safety factor involved then would propose you to ignore than void thought as before making it public Martin made his wife Vanessa do a test piloting. Those still looking for a second option can consider world’s first practical three-wheeled flying car.

For virtual ride on this, check out the video here:

The Seascout aquatic rescue robot can be witnessed as a weapon for specialized and errant tourists in unbolted waters. If any fine day, you feel the possibility of getting caught in such panicky moment then all you need to do is to activate a GPS tracker and the ‘bot’ would slither out to scrape them into its drudgery bay, transporting them back to shelter. Accessibly physically or preprogrammed, and features a domestic lighting, a sun-shade and a radio system so as to keep you away from that claustrophobic feel.

All it needs is a duo of frickin’ laser beams to scuffle off shark to evolve as a marine hero or rather a successful villain. Designed and developed by Andre Harley, a student at the Designskolen Kolding University in Denmark, the Seascout is truly a revolutionary form of recue.
