Whilst months back the evolution of interaction table marked a new revolution with little knowledge that soon it would have to face competition with Interactive Scape, a 58-inch touch surface. The latter one is a replica of the Microsoft Surface table that created much of a buzz but is not available for sale until now. But that doesn’t mean that the existence of interactive products is only till news and doesn’t meet reality. Microsoft TouchWall retailed at $100,000 inked a neat deal at Neimann Marcus. It is a clear indication of the fact that there is no restraint to the production of interactive surface and filthy-rich tech-lovers as well.

Similar to Microsoft offerings’, Interactive Scape allows you to compute touchscreen-style by stirring things around its 1080p touchscreen with your fingers and it is also capable of transferring data to and from cell phones via Bluetooth. A glimpse at the table would make you realize its screaming beauty with its Corian surface slapped with various shades. The German makers behind it are demure about its cost, but the pricey factor attached to it is an indicator that it will first feature at retail point-of-sale applications. Well, the growing technology impact and production of products that stands beyond our imagination claims that Gen X would be using these touch-screen interactive forms on daily basis.

If it fails to convince you then free feel to design your own interactive table via Cubit or bring home the voice recognition table designed for conferences by Kage Roi.

Jump after Read more to enjoy the interactive affects of the Scape:

Engineers working at Eyebeam, a New York arts and technology center, are radically engaged in cutting down the cost involved in making of multitouch tables by offering them open-source. Schematics for the Cubit, a multi-touch tabletop exhibit are accessible online for individuals interested in designing their own Microsoft Surface at a cost less than one tenth of the Surface’s price. Called Cubit, this boxy tabletop comes with a clear surface.

To get started, the proud would-be owner of the multi-touch table needs to have a webcam with an infrared filter and a small image projector. All you need to do is to plug in the webcam, install the Cubit software and turn on the projector and start moving. Eyebeam guys Addie Wagenknetch and Stefan Hechenberger share that they were liberating the Cubit to highlight the visibility that anyone can build a multitouch table.
In addition to designs and online software’s, the duo would be selling DIY kits featuring instructions and parts.

Lately, the Cubit was exhibited 0at the Maker Faire together with handful of other open-source multi-touch projects. Initially open-source focused only upon software but with time DIYers like Eyebeam andBug Labs are now taking the attitude into the dominion of hardware as well.

Ballmer might be hopeful of selling us Microsoft surface this year as in 2007 it made a statement of offering it in T-Mobile, Starwood Hotels, Harrah’s casinos and IGN branches by winter. But it seems tables have turned now as Microsoft has inked a neat deal with the US mobile carrier AT&T, who is taking pride for being the first retailer for supplying the touch-table in stores across New York, San Francisco, Atlanta and San Antonio. Microsoft surface table will be unveiled on 17 April.

The tables will be installed in a manner so that the minute you put a phone over it, it’ll automatically call all info on that exacting model. It gives access to you for buying ringtones, graphics and videos by spanking your phone on it. This $10,000 Microsoft toy is an opportunity for you to buy that ironic Mister Mister ringtone that you have dreamt of getting always.
