Some dogs just get lucky as many of them are luxuriously pampered by their owners. This time too, some of them will get very lucky. Marc Jacobs presents a limited edition luxurious dog carrier that was displayed on Tuesday, the 24th of November at the ‘L’ Excellence du Savoir-Faire exhibition at Sotheby’s auction house in London.

The dog carrier was offered at the exhibition alongside other famous accessories created by famous designers. They included Louis Vuitton limited-edition, special order pieces by Damien Hirst, Chef Ferran Adria, photographer Annie Leibovitz and musician Gustavo Santaolalla. The base price ranges anywhere between 25,000 and 35,000 pounds, which is approximately between $41,800 and $58,500 US dollars.

It’s the recession time. A lot of people have been hit very badly by their finances but surprisingly, some things just do not changed. Marc Jacobs himself stated in one of his recent interviews that ‘recession’ has hardly made any change in business. It is as flourishing as it used to be prior to the havoc created by recession all over the world. While it’s understandable that some people do not want to compromise over their tastes, it is nonetheless intriguing if it’s really worth to splurge pots of money on some dog carrier.

If you were to ask me what I would NOT do during Thanksgiving, I would say, I would not eat one of these beautiful birds. The Good Shephard Heritage Turkey has been announced and apparently the birds are fed with vegetarian feed. Thus, you would be eating vegetarian birds and I must really admire the thoughtfulness of the Turkey farmers who think it is OK to eat birds that are fed with vegetarian feed.

That does not make the turkey consumers vegetarian in any way! These birds are grown according to the American Poultry Association’s Standards of Perfection and have even received Animal Welfare Institute’s Animal Welfare Approved certification. I would say, spend $120 to $200 and save these beautiful birds from ending up on somebody’s plate.

Though it is one’s personal choice to consume what he or she wants, I cannot imagine these lovely birds being skinned and cooked, and then eaten while “thanking” for ones blessings. That would cross the limits of hypocrisy! If you have any conscience and really want to thank someone, show it by saving the lives of these playful and affectionate turkeys.

Montblanc recently brought out a limited edition pen in memory of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, the father f the Indian nation. He is widely believed to be the proponent of Ahinsa, which is the theory of non violence through which he is said to have helped Indians achieve their freedom.

The Montblanc pen comes with Gandhi’s image etched on the nib and the pen itself is carved out of a 18 carat white gold material. The image is engraved with a 18 carat yellow gold wire. The limited edition pens cost $25,000 and many Gandhi followers did not like the idea of Gandhi’s image being etched on a luxurious pen as he was against such “worldly pleasures”.

Nevertheless, Montblanc certainly will strike a chord with collectors and memorabilia hunters and they would certainly pay the moolah to get themselves a pen like this.
