Insiders reveal that Louis Moinet has published certain sketches of a twin-barrel watch way back in 1848, and now they have developed a timepiece based on those patterns. We quite like that the company values ideation and does not dump creativity in the bin, even after so many years. The new watch keeps in tune with the times. It has a 120-hour power reserve, which is three times more than a normal watch. You can see the power reserves indicated on the dial. The retrograde date displays are impressive.
The balance is semi-openworked, which is a rather original concept, and it looks stunning in a new rectagular frame. Among other features, the visible balance is protected by a cock just like they did way back in the 18th century. The barrel have several Louis Moinet logo engravings. The caseback is secured with 4 screws while the dial comes in theree options – silver, charcoal and old rose.

With so many high-end timepieces coming up in the market, watch makers are busy contemplating ideas to stand apart from the crowd. Perhaps that is the reason why famed brand Louis Moinet has decided to provide each of their watch with a watch winder. Many of you must be under the impression that this rather obvious tool must be accompanying all the luxury automatic mechanical timepieces, but we are sorry to burst the bubble because most of them do not!
The US-based company Orbita will be making this watch winder which will comes sitting pretty inside a book-shaped case, where the watch too can remain after being wound until the owner decides to wear it. The concept of adding the watch winder is a very useful one because most Luis Moinet timepieces need everyday winding and doing it manually can be very tasking.
