You will agree that it’s always nice to shop once in a while for an unusual hand bag that isn’t your black or white. Here we have a very structured fashion accompaniment that comes in a very pretty and rather rare shade of blue with subtle intones of black. Called the Temperly London Design this one has fashionable studs on the front flap that will blow you away.
We do realise that it is a wee bit small for a shoulder bag but still it is spacious enough to hold you bare essentials for the day (it’s ok once in a while to step out without carrying your bottle of water and rely on the many vending machines standing out there). Again, the smallness of the bag makes it a good fit for evening hang outs too.

We just came across a snazzy party table called the “Aperitivo Table” designed by Eu Ju Park from Korea. The good news is that ‘Aperitivo Table’ has been shortlisted as one of the 100 best entries for the recent designboom competition, which is soon to begin in callaboration with ‘Peroni Nastro Azzurro’.

Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA) in London will host an exhibition show from September 30 to October 4, 2009 for the shortlisted winners to display their projects. The usual and ordinary square tables or round tables do not quite do a good job during parties when so many people gather around the table to eat and converse.

Watch genius Severin Wunderman indeed lived life king size. After all he is the man who built the Gucci watch brand. His eight-bedroom townhouse in the Chelsea part of London grabbed headlines last year. And haven’t we heard so much about his Corum and other interesting images that he possessed. Come September 30, and his collection of furniture, paintings and several obejects from his house will go on sale at Bonhams London.
All this is being done for a good cause as the proceeds will be directed to the Severin Wunderman Family Foundation that supports research on incurable diseases.

Newer standards in luxury are being laid. Yes, even in the financial hard times! Of course, the selected few like the Sultan of Brunei (the pic above is not a recent one). The status is rarefied and so you can well imagine the ostentatious spending habits that he must be enjoying. Well, the man is in news for a haircut he took recently. Boy, now what’s big with that is what you must be wondering. Well, the simple routine thing cost him a huge $21,485.
Believe it or not but the stylish Sultan hired a private luxury cabin on a Singapore Airlines flight from London to Brunei for an appointment with his favorite barber Ken Modestu which cost £11,000, excluding the bit about hotel ad luxury gourmet food. Though regular folks can get a snip from Ken for £30 at the Dorchester hotel in Mayfair, Central London; but His Majesty did not want to take any chances with the Swine Flu bug and thought it was safer to fly his hairdresser instead.

Hear hear, recession has struck everyone hard, the rich included. We are referring to the richest man of Britain, steel magnate Lakshmi Mittal. Apparently, the man has had not succes in finding a buyer for a luxe home of his, which is why he had decided to rent out the property instead.
The plush estate is located in Hampstead in North London and goes by the name of Summer Palace. Experts calculated its price to be $65.5 million before the credit crunch hit. This is indeed a home fit for a king with 11 luxuriously decorated bedrooms with 12 complementing bathrooms. There are six reception rooms, a glass lift leading to the swimming pool plus a jacuzzi along side a steam room.

Stuart Phillips could be the most expensive hairdresser in the world. He earned a lot of appreciation for his work at the very start itself. So armed with technique, the man travelled the world to explore how hairdressers work in other countries. Quite disappointed with the low standards particularly in Japan and Indonesia, he decided to make amends in his own salon in hometown London. Together with his luxury expert wife Tabitha, he worked on a dream hairstyling package that would mean great business for the couple.
And so the various jaw-dropping packages came into existence. So if you are looking for an adventure of sorts at the least expensive international services provided by Phillps, try the Gold Package at £8,000. This includes a limo ride, champagne lunch, hair consultation, head and scalp massage, cut and blow dry, instructions on hair care, a range of L’Oreal products to take home and a limo ride back to the airport.

Price may have been cut at most eateries due the global financial hit but not everyone likes to follow herd. Take the posh London curry house Bombay Brasserie, for instance. The cooks here have concocted a spectacular culinary delight with a price, that both have enough ammunition to blow your mind away even individually. So, you can well imagine the lethal combination that apparently is being patronised by the Richie Richs of the society.
Called The Samundari Khazana aka Treasure from the seas, this one is tasteful mix of Beluga caviar, sea snails and a whole lobster topped with edible gold. The head chef, Prahlad Hegde, believes that there still are many people who are willing to shell out the extra buck to pamper their taste buds. We hear that Prahlad is the one to have created this expensive curry, which in turn is an inspiration from his mother’s kitchen.

The Skycar project by a team of explorers and motorheads from London is really grabbing the attention of the world for more than one reason. Apart from creating a flying car that aims to run from London to Timbuktu on a route that mixes both land and air, the Skycar uses both biofuel which is considered great for the planet and can switch between land and air within a matter of just 3 minutes. The flying car aims to complete the journey from London to Timbuktu starting this January and the 6000 km trip will be the perfect test run for this future car.
The team has already spent over £130,000 on the project and this machine that combines a modified 140bhp Yamaha R1 superbike engine with the gearbox of a snowboard vehicle and a fan of a swamp boat is really a cool combination between air and road transport. It can accelerate up to a speed of 170 mph on land and its acceleration can match that of any sports car on land. In air, it is expected to reach an altitude of 2000-3000 feet and a top speed of well over 100mph.
The Skycar will use the giant fan and the parachute to move I air and when stuck in traffic, a car like this would be invaluable indeed. There is no way all the money can buy you that sense of freedom, but if the test run succeeds you might be able to get a Skycar for £35,000 and £40,000 for a standard model and £60,000 for a high-performance sports version. Air-lifting out of traffic- Stuff of dreams indeed!
