The world knows the name Akvinta as the first Mediterranean luxury vodka across the globe. Last year, Europe was lucky enough to dip into this high quality spirit and now it is the time for US to do so. The buzz tells us that the brand has just entered the New York, New Jersey and California markets. The Croatian liquor got its official launch in America at the recent Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. As a matter of fact, Virgin Atlantic Airlines is also happily serving it on board as well as in their Upper Class Clubhouse at JFK airport and at Nobu in NY and Cal.
So much about the brouhaha this vodka is creating. Let us tell you what makes it super-premium. Well, it has the USDA stamping for organic spirit as it has been very carefully made from the best ingredients that include 100% organic wheat alcohol from Italy and pure Dalmatian spring water. It carries no additives.

Would you like to “put a beast in your belly”? If you are not scared by this tagline, then you might just be brave enough to actually sip on a new liquor available in the market, The Kraken Black Spiced Rum and it borrows its name from the legendary tentacled beast of the sea. Frankly, we really doubt the presence of the animal inside this high quality spirit but you never know (just kidding)! We are informed that a secret blend of 13 spices were mixed and a dark black color reminding the maker of the giant squid’s ink was obtained, and so the name.
The rum has been distilled in Trinidad and Tobago and it impresses with the Kraken’s legendary strength which is 94 proof. Plus it has been bottled very stylishly too. The maker has kept the whole aura very gothic. A simple glass bottle adorns a white wrap that carries the name of the rum as well as a picture of the Kraken creature in black ink. One look at it and you will get a sense of drinking something that does not belong to the present times.

The classic Chambord Royal orb bottle just got a jewel-encrusted makeover! Dubbed Chambord by Donald Edge, this liquor bottle is a beauty to behold. The well publicised unveiling was kept in conjunction with the opening of ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’ featuring Anna Friel and Jospeh Cross at the Theatre Royal Haymarket London. Now, that’s what we call a grand and well-strategised advertising!
This very unique bottle contains a rare French black raspberry liquor. It took close to 60 carats of diamonds that translated into 1,100 round brilliantly cut, pear cut as well as a square cut emerald diamond along with precious pearls to decorate this stunner. All these have beenn set in 18 carat yellow gold.

It is spreading like fire, we mean the trend of creating exquisite liquor bottles packed with all sorts of gems and precious stones. And now the lovers of bling can look forward to another treat and this time it is a sparkling bottle of Chambord.
We are told that this one-of-its-kind bottle has been designed by jeweler Donald Edge, who later embellished it all over with diamonds, gold and pearl. No wonder the Chambord bottle itself is being celebrated as nothing less than a spectacularly put together piece of jewelry. If insiders are to be believed this expensive affair is worth $2 million!

Connoisseurs of wine must be familiar with the adage that aged liquor is never poured into any new containers for the fear of spoiling it! But company William Grant & Sons beg to differ. The famous Scottish distillers have decided to package their 50-year-old single malt Scotch into new bottles and sell the ‘new product’ for $16,000. By the way, this step makes the scotch the second-most expensive whiskey in the whole world.
Again, the exclusivity of the product can be learnt by the simple fact that the distillers have decided to release a limited edition of only 50 bottles. Also, each liquor bottles comes sitting comfy in specially designed, leather-bound treasure boxes done in hand. The flap of this box also carries the history of the whiskey.

Almost nothing compares to that shot of tequila to get to the right party high. In fact, that’s why this liquor has always enjoyed a high status over other spirits. And a new one just entered the market. It’s called 1800 Select Silver, the only tequila to be produced by brand ManCave, and this one is partially aged and double-distilled firewater, thereby making it the only 100-proof silver tequila in the world.
Connoisseurs reveal that this tequila is as smooth as it gets, it goes in and stimulates your tastebuds with fruity agave flavor before ending in a soft finish. Again, this one is 25 per cent stronger than other silvers, so you might want to tackle it with care. In this case, one or two drinks will really be too many!

Tired of cheap supermarket liquor? Not anymore. There is a soon-to-be released miracle machine for all those of you who want to sip on quality spirits without having to spend too much. A creation of Dragons Den veteran and entrepreneur Casey Jones, this wonderful gadget comes at a neat price of 350 pounds.
Claims are that this ice-bucket look alike can turn any cheap booze into a bottle of vintage in just 30 minutes. The space-age ultrasound technology behind has garnered a lot of interest. Leisure chain Hotel Du Vin is even in talks about promoting the working title ‘Ultrasonic Wine Ager’.
There is yet another plus point that this wine ager has. It eliminates chances of a hangover. Because of the chemical changes occurring, the alcohol becomes easily absorbable by the kidneys. By the way, Jones has also tried the gadget on orange juice. Not only the juice was fresher but it even looked brighter.
A very attractive product that shall pull all restaurants, bars, pubs, hotels and home brewers like a magnet!

The very mention of portable wine bars gathers my attention and I can’t help but building a virtual appeal for myself owing variety of them. But if ever happen to see reality in company of such drink station then my place would be floored with gathering scheduled every weekend. Not that I love parties but just because I will have a justified reason and rightful company of people to flaunt my purchases. Oops…I forgot to mention the gatherings would be organized under the sky in my lounge.
Lately, my eye-lids stopped at the elite Drink Station, a feature-packed offering by Opulent Items. The portable bar is developed in Germany and is imported from there. It has an integrated refrigerator, ice machine, flute holders, bottle bins, and wooden serving shelf.
Truly, you can make it follow you but it is suggestive to install it near the power outlet to keep your refrigerator cool. It can be yours on a drop of $10,000.
