You will agree when we say that the jungle gym isn’t the fun that it used to be when were little. Do no fret, we are not campainging against our dearest retreat in the days of childhood. Just that the young turks today aren’t really impressed with the play structure. Gen-Y needs a toy that is in tune with the times. Enter Nexus Core. Soft Animal TVs For Your Kids From HANNSpree

hannspree-reveals-new-animal-televisions-1 Soft Animal TVs For Your Kids From HANNSpree

HANNSpree likes to be as novel as possible and it does it with panache unlike some brand who deviate just a li’l bit and fall flat on their faces. Their latest creation is the animal-theme TV. And the fresh models will be showcased at the IFA in early September. The cute and cuddly animals accompanying the TV include a zebra, giraffe, camel and polar bear.

We have a feeling that no kid will be able to resist not having this TV in his or her room. But we do realise that parents will be concerned about not wanting to promote TV watching so much with the young ones, but we think that the HANNSpree creation will be quite useful in fostering the kiddo’s interest in the animal kingdom. Then again, you can always block the channels you don’t want your child to see.

The market is abuzz with talks of the new BMW Baby Racer II which is a whole bagful of fun for kids both outdoors as well as indoors.

A lot of thought and design has gone into making this little wonder. Thick tires hold the toy vehicle without making any noise and also  overcome small obstacles with a lot of ease just like an adult would do in his/her original BMW car.

Zigo Bike For Outgoing Moms!
Posted in Automobile, Designer on 2 July 2008

Zigo Bike

With gas prices only an inch below the sky-limit and inflation turning two digits, it is wise enough to device automobiles that put low burden on your wallet. And the possible solution is production of models that keeps family travelling experience united. And the latest offering meeting your needs is a Zigo bike that actually erases the dad figure and chooses the presence of mom to be either behind or sideways whilst the kid enjoys his stay in the danger zone up called the ChildPod. The fine Zigo Leader Carrier Bicycle can be detached and altered into a buggy lightning quick, and the Zigo becomes accessible as an ordinary two-wheeled bicycle upon fixing the front wheel.

Priced at $995, it surely would offer a great ride to your young ones and chasing mom.

Pirate Ship Bed For Your Pro-Active Kids
Posted in Designer, Furniture on 8 May 2008

Pirate Ship Bed

If your kids are so fond of the Pirates of the Caribbean, how about getting them one home? Pinch yourself, as this is possible with a custom-built bed right from the Pirates of the Caribbean that unfolds as a play area. This is one thing that your kids would surely welcome. Seemingly pirate ship from a distance, this Pirate Ship Bed is all set to welcome only kits. Adults not allowed for simple reason they won’t fit in!

Pirate Ship Bed

It dons the similar authentic pirate ship appeal and credit for that goes to its wooden feel, which is offered by a forward deck with a sail, working portholes, a wooden anchor plus four cannons on peak. You can also opt for a brass bell that comes as an on-demand accessory with this designer bed. But someone has rightly said, luxurious comfort doesn’t come cheap and following to this rule, it demands $6650 for an ordinary edition and $8050 for a complete version stuffed with bells and skulls.

Jumplay: Futuristic Health-Conscious Device
Posted in Concept, Designer, Entertainment, Health on 29 April 2008

Jumplay

Another concept-based toy for kids but may turn a serious weapon for the health-conscious gentry. Production of gadgets featuring time or message via swiftly vacillating wand preset with tiny LEDs is a passé. Designer Jacky Wu has behaved smartly by implementing this technology to a skipping rope (jumping rope). They say this sensible device keeps a record of every jump and thus features calories burnt within a particular time period via built-in LEDs.

Jumplay

And as a result you have a chimera with a feel that someone is countering in the mid air. It could be a bit too much for all heavy-weights as it may put them in pitiful situation by keeping a low count of their jumps. Say what may but I strongly doubt this concept turning into reality for obvious reasons. Firstly, the smacking of rope with the ground would disturb the intactness of the LEDs. And fortunately, if they happen to function well then constant rubbing on the ground would offer a blur image to read.

2008 Kips Bay Decorator Show
Posted in Art, Designer, Events, Exhibitions on 26 April 2008

Swinging Room

The yearly Kips Bay Decorator Show House started in New York on 24 April and will run through 22 May. To my utter surprise, around 22 designers would be using this as a platform and are provided with six apartments at The Manhattan House, 200 East 66th Street to participate in the Kips Bay Decorator Show House. For the first time in the history of 36 years, the show is being held in an apartment building rather than a town house. In coming days I would be updating you with designer credits. Tickets for the show would cost you $30.

Some interesting stuff direct from 2008 Kips Bay Decorator Show:

Caceres + Miranda

An Audi-design prototype chandelier hangs above a table in the Daniel Boulud kitchen. Also, the artwork of Caceres + Miranda designed by Geoffrey Bradfield is quite interesting. Simon Horn crib, configured here for a toddler, sits on display in a children’s room designed by Bograd Kids. A teak torso of drawers with superimposed silver breeds luxury. The BKH-designed living rooms, modern furniture, including a Vladimir Kagan sofa are amongst the attraction of the Show House.

Prototype chandelier

A Vic Muniz drawing of chef Daniel Boulud hung in a Kitchen designed by Daniel Boulud and Rita-Louisa Garces.

The wavering 60’s chicks room, designed by Ellen Ward Scarborough Ltd. Is mind blowing. Sculpture by Jean Arp (R) features well in a therapist’s room designed by S. Russell Groves. Another elite attraction was chairs designed by Stephen Miller Siegel which have upholstered in horsehair fabric. Lastly, a bedroom suite designed by White Webb is worth a pick.

Kid Kustoms is designed o offer a style statement to your little kid. Ready to hit the fast lane, this pram boasts of the best offering for kids. Nearly the whole thing about this pram can be tailored considering your likes and finances, while the top speed depends on how speedy you will be able to shove this obsession. The price range of Kid Kustoms varies from $2,000-$3,500. Believe me its almost eight-times the cost of my first car on my third birthday.
