Safari Air’s Green Trip Around Africa Comes At A Huge Price

If you are a serious tree hugger with a load of money to spare, then you can perhaps hire the services of Safari Air. This very green, luxury private jet charter service has committed itself to bring down global warming substantially by purchasing carbon offsets for each passenger mile traveled. And now, the brand has announced a special 21-day ‘Around the World Grand East Africa Safari’ tour.

Well, this one is meant only for eight passengers who will be taken aboard a Safari Air Gulfstream IV private jet to be taken on a 24,450-mile adventure of a lifetime. You can visit the Great Pyramids of Giza, Hong Kong Harbor, Taj Mahal and the gorgeous safaris in Tanzania and Kenya.

The flight is expected to take off on October 15th from Orange County, California’s John Wayne Airport with stop over at luxury hotels in Quebec City, Edinburgh, Agra in India, Hong Kong, Guam and Honolulu. You will be pleased to learn that this tour will include short daytime flights to minimize jetlag. The green adventure comes at a price of $144,500 per person.

If you can’t take the noxious fumes of a city after alighting from a plane, stay in the plane instead! The Stockholm-Arlanda airport will now feature a hostel on wings of sort. The hostel is nothing but a Boeing 747 from 1976 which has about 25 rooms after being converted into a grounded hostel. This apparently is also the world’s first hostel and comes with original engines that mesmerize any guest.

The flight deck now doubles up as a private suite and there also is a lounge and cafe for those who need some kind of refreshments and relaxation. A night ion the hostel is not exactly like staying in a YMCA funded hostel. A night in the Jumbo Hostel will set you back by $170.

The Jumbo Hostel seems like the right place for those who want to show off that they ‘lived’ in a jet and not in a hotel when they were in Stockholm, Sweden.

Officially christened as “The Vision SJ50,” the Jet by Cirrus Design is a deluxe miniature airliner flown by a single pilot. The Cirrus Vision claims to unify the finest of both i.e. high performance single-engine class and very light jet type. Cirrus takes pride in tagging it the slowest, lowest and cheapest jet accessible. Antonov or AN-225 is not a Missile but the world’s heaviest and largest aircraft built-ever. Flying / walking on the landing gear arrangement of 32 wheels and a wing span of 291 feet, this is a state-of-the-art masterpiece.
