The ocarinas are flute-like musical instruments from thousands of years ago and the Chinese and the Mayans still fight over which tribe designed and made music over the first ocarina. Perhaps, we’ll never find that out but we do know that the present day ocarina was designed by a gentleman from Italy. Still, no youngster would know what the hell an ocarina is if it wasn’t for the Legend of Zelda.

The ocarina increased in demand after the duck-shaped musical instrument found its way into the Nintendo game and suddenly all the game obsessed youth started hankering to own one. It’s no wonder then that the ocarina has surfaced yet again, and this time it is certainly not in the virtual world. The iPhone Ocarina, as it is being called at the moment since no one is sure of its actual title, appear to be an ocarina made out of 3 iPhones. Instead of holes, as you would find on a traditional ocarina, this strange instrument shows eight buttons that would control the pitch.

There isn’t much information about this strange gadget except for the fact that it made its first appearance at the MAKE Japan  meet. Then again, others claim that this isn’t an ocarina but is the iPhone Sax made by Junpei Wada. Ah, who do we believe?

Present day bathroom fixtures have been quite the centre of the latest in technology. We have had everything from TV mirrors to automatic toilets to touch faucets. iHouse has developed a new Smart Faucet along the lines of the much-revered iPhone. It is called VADO has the latest v-touch basin mixer that runs on touch screen technology. So, there is a touch pad that lets you change the flow of water and thermostatically control the temperature with the aid of the digital display.

There are red and blue dots that glow subtly through the Tecnoril material. We guess these let you know how hot or cold the water is. The curves are sleek and the body is white for this faucet which looks great with the matte black spout that arcs through the body. VADO plans to have an extensive range of faucets, basin and baths by the end of this year.

Recent surveys have revealed that iPhone is enjoying a good reign as the most popular mobile device in the tech-savvy Japan. And there is an ultra-luxe item which is being made available to mark the occasion. One of the major cell phone providers in the country, Softbank has just launched the Japan Texture Special Edition mobile accessory for iPhone which is really an attempt to bring a distinct Japanese flavor to the widely successful gadget that almost everybody owns or wants to own.

The new collection has mobiles fitted in lacquer cases that play five different designs each paying homage to the days of samurais and shoguns. In fact, the elegant presentation cases by themselves look nothing short of a work of art.

Apple is no newbie when it comes to turning the world pink. Even though the Apple iPhones have been advertised to the point of making them as common as cotton candy, it seems that Apple still has some surprises in store for us.

Turning pink this month is the Apple iPhone. Introduced by UK based Stuart Hughes, the iPhone 3GS Diamond is a sight to behold. Simplistic and beautiful beyond compare, the 3GS Diamond is obviously directed at the lovely ladies but its sheer attractiveness will make it quite appealing for some men as well. Made of 18c solid, the iPhone has a replacement rear plate and bezel made from rose gold of about 150gms. The phone is further adorned with girl’s best friend; 53 pink diamonds shimmer in the Apple logo set in rose gold.
