Honda has released images of several new eco-friendly two-wheelers it will probably present at the Tokyo Motor Show later this month. Motorcycle Future. That is what Honda hopes throught its small electric two-wheelers.

EV-Cub electric motorcycle is one of them, besides EVE-neo electric scooter and its already announced PCX global scooter. The motorcycle offers more stability and traction than its rear-wheel cousins, as touted. It could be a lot more easier to learn too, for riders who are just beginning to get their ropes in driving.

The 2WD bike EV-Cub can ferry riders around on its retro-styled frame early 2010. Of late, big names other than Honda, like Yamaha, Ohlins, Christini and KTM have also been working on 2WD (two-wheel drive) motorcycles.
Honda however is all ready to commercialize a 2WD motorcycle, or at least an electric one. EV-Cub has features like the car2car, car2driver communication tool and also has electric motors in front and rear wheels.

Traction advantages of vehicles like EV-Cub are primarily on loose surfaces and wet roads. This one is also slimmer than a normal motorbike. It may be to make optimum use of its lower power.

Although, Honda’s new Safety Navi might just be dubbed as a PC-based automobile driving simulator, it does a little more than that. Providing different levels of driving experiences for beginners to pro, it might just also give you a lesson to remember in safe driving with an exhilarating virtual feel.

This device, when connected to a retail personal computer and accessories like a steering wheel, lets you enjoy and easy-to-use automobile driving simulator. The software basically consists of two kinds of programs — Eco Drive and SD* Coacher. The former is aimed at teaching fuel-efficient driving techniques whilst the latter gives you pointers into safe driving in extreme weather conditions.

Designed while keeping road safety in mind, the Honda Safety Navi comes across as a good buy for avid gamers as well as for parents who want to introduce their adolescents to safe driving. Available both alone as well as along with the recommended accessories, Honda Safety Navi is a buy you will not regret. Just the software costs $2,200 while the entire simulator package comes for a little more than $3,000.

2009 Honda Element. Already a fan of dogs, Honda goes a step further this time in vowing their complete devotion to dogs. The Honda Element Dog Friendly Concept has a cushioned pet bed in the rear with a spill resistant bowl for long trips. It must be noted, however, that your canine can still slurp water and drool all over the floor. The best feature of the car, especially for those who have a morbid fear (and dislike) of dogs, would be the pet restraints, just in case your sweet doggy was having a bad I-wanna-eat-human-flesh day.

The Honda Element also appears to include a ramp for dogs who have been pampered so much they no longer desire just jumping out of the vehicle. To know more, just wait till the car goes on sale this fall.

If you are tired of that boring old Ferrari you must try the new car designed by New Zealand’s Alex Hodge. The guy has designed a slick looking car, which can seat only one person. The car, called the Hawk, runs on a Honda RC51 V-twin 999cc engine and can theoretically reach top speeds of up to 233kmph.

The concept looks like a cross between a bike and car and is definitely going to turn heads around. The vehicle is being touted to be lightweight and small. Looks like we don’t have to drive those cumbersome and boring sports cars, which every other nouveau riche and yuppie guy drives around.

And I know the thought makes you queasy to know that someone else could be driving the same thing as you do. Hence, go get the Hawk. This is one such concept, which I am going to vote for and cheat too, by voting twice.

Truly, this is not the first device designed to help elderly or crippled walk unaided, but for sure amongst all, this one is really compact and user friendly so far. Developed by Honda, the walking assist device would be demonstrated at the International Trade Fair on Barrier Free Equipments & Rehabilitation in Osaka. The team at Honda is being working over this for past nine years.

After undergoing the processing since 1999, the device has now reached the viability phase and prospective customers are invited to get the first-hand feel. I wish I could also experience that. It’s no shocker that Honda’s ASIMO humanoid robot contributed significantly in making this device possible. The data acquired from hip angle sensors is used by the control CPU to converse the flat brush less motors and offer the needful assistance to enable those using the device elongate their tread. Weighing 6.2lbs, the device can easily be wrapped around the waist and thigh. It comes with a battery life of 2 hours if used at 4.5km/hour.
