Let us be honest, there are handbags for summer and then there are handbags for winter (do not fret, we are not ignoring the possibilities for spring, rain and fall). We just think that it is fashionably a very bad idea to mix the two aforementioned seasons. Just take a dekko at the Tory Burch Nico Shearling Satchel and you will know what we are talking about. This fashion accessory-cum-utility is a perfect match for you winter coat, which we think might be back from the dry cleaners.
The satchel in question exudes a winter style that will keep you warm with happiness and style. There are furry shearling edges that impress upon a strong sense of warmth and comfort, a reassurance one always needs. At the same time, it looks very elegant thanks to the signature ‘T’ hooks that hold the handle.

Expect designer Michael Kors to revv up some classy fashion magic every season. This fall he has come up with the Skorpios Hobo (perhaps to go with the ongoing Scorpios zodiac month) that oozes nothing but sheer exclusivity. Made in white, this one fully establishes the fact that its user is someone who has simple yet extremely classy tastes in life. Plus this one is as big as it gets. With dimensions similar to that of a big tote, 16 1/2″W x 14″H x 5″D, this handbag flaunts a slouchy shape that can be expanded to accomodate more by simply undoing the goldtone clips on both the sides.
A perfect day bag, this one has been made from real soft leather in white with trims of brown snakeskin-embossed leather. As for the handle, it sports brown braided leather that has been held together with nautical-style clips just like in a cruise ship. A very creative conceptualisation, we must say.

It isn’t the first time designer Judith Leiber’s work has caught our fancy. Well, she is the same creative genius credited for the Peacock Miniaudiere and the Versailles Box Clutch (among so many others). This time it is her ‘dicotheque0lous’ streak that we loved so much in the new Disco Ball Miniaudiere. Shaped like a disco ball, this one has been made in Italy with dimensions meeting the scale 1/2″H x 3 1/2″W x 3 1/2″D.
The tiny case has been covered with crystal rhinestones all over to recreate the disco ball effect. And just as all eyes are on the disco ball in a disc despite the large crowd, loud music and the craziness, this handbag too promises to make you the belle of the ball wherever you go. The tassle to go with it is very sexy indeed.

It is no secret. We like fashionable shoes and handbags more than anything in the world. And we are even more taken up by them if the pattern is a novel one! Here’s a big and cheery welcome for the Ruby Fox Fur Clutch into our wardrobes. This one sells under the brand name Sang A and frankly it just couldn’t have been more simple and sexy. It works around a rather expensive looking ruby-colored fox fur exterior that will make you an instant hit at every social ball you plan to attend this fall.
We like it more for its subtleness. This piece of accessory will add a charm to your whole look without drawing excessive attention to itself.

A dash of colors in our wardrobe is a great welcome. After all the monotones sometimes run out of all their charms. So in the future, on days when you are feeling so, then you can take out the Ombre Pailette-Embellished Box Clutch that you bought (will buy now) from Miu Miu and feel like a million bucks. Well, make the purchase of this spectrum of bright pink that has been mixed with dark eggplant for a feminine touch that goes beyond the ‘too girly’ and you won’t ever regret it.
The designer brand has ensured that all’s just in right amounts with this bag. For instance, it has been showered with oversized light-reflecting paillettes all over using black bead accents. These are well complemented by goldtone hardware and a black leather trim. The shoulder strap is both detachable and adjustable. The push-lock closure is a good option with the black satin lining.

Well, this one is definitely for keeps and with that mindset of the fashionable shopper, we get a feeling that you might just miss out on this one if you delay any moment once this bag is launched. The NYCabat bag is a stealer from the second one lays eyes on it. This beauty os a really a classic Bottega Veneta woven bag with a slight taxi twist thought of by the brand’s creative director Toman Maier.
Priced at a whopping $7,100, this one has been in the signature hand-crafted BV leather and has been later hand0dyed in colors yellow and black. We are choosing to ignore the money part because we are so taken uo by the style and pattern of this great fashion accessory.

You will agree that it’s always nice to shop once in a while for an unusual hand bag that isn’t your black or white. Here we have a very structured fashion accompaniment that comes in a very pretty and rather rare shade of blue with subtle intones of black. Called the Temperly London Design this one has fashionable studs on the front flap that will blow you away.
We do realise that it is a wee bit small for a shoulder bag but still it is spacious enough to hold you bare essentials for the day (it’s ok once in a while to step out without carrying your bottle of water and rely on the many vending machines standing out there). Again, the smallness of the bag makes it a good fit for evening hang outs too.

Here is a simple but extremely elegant piece of accessory that you definitely have to carry on your next high-profile do. Dubbed the Versailles Box Clutch by Judith Leiber. Compliments assured! Measuring a comfortably small 3 3/4″H x 5 1/2″W x 2″D, this one is both lavish and classy enough to go with your evening dress.
The design pattern (as well as the name) has been borrowed from Versailles. The scroll motif is quite dominant and shamelessly showy but none’s gonna mind it!

One designer who knows croc leather pretty well is Nancy Gonzalez and her latest Soft Croc Quilted Satchel proves just that! With alternating croc patterns on five evenly and very tastefully pleated panels on both sides, this one makes for a great accessory. We especially liked tht fact that the back and the front have such a cool and equal smoothness that the bag is endowed with a very pleasing shape.
Since frames are expected to be big this season, the Soft Croc Quilted Satchel too has them. The double straps are pretty long, so much that you can easily throw them over your shoulder. This one has been made in Columbia and has dimensions of 9 1/2″H x 13 1/2″W x 5 1/2″D.

Animal fur remains to be an instrinsic part of the fashion world. Though awareness is increasing but the efforts of the animal lovers is taking time to make a difference. All that said, we shall not hold on to our moralising tone (though we sincerely hope that the PETA folks are listening) and introduce the new Skunk Fur Peekaboo Roll Bag by Fendi. This one marks to be different because skunk is not an animal you usually associate with style and fashion, stink…yes!
Made in fine leather that is lined with soft skunk fur (the poor stinky beast), this bag features an adjustable crossboady strap. You can pre-order it from Saks for $1,970. We are told that though the bag is made in Italy, the skunk fur was brought in from Canada. We wonder, if this is just another way to utilise roadkill!
