BMW-M1-Homage-concept BMW Plans To Launch New Green Concept Car At Frankfurt Motor Show

The Frankfurt Motor Show (to be held in September this year) is no less than a Mecca for luxury cars. In fact, many roadsters see their first light of the day at this very event. We hear that this time around, BMW might just showcase the new green concept it has been fastidiously working on. It is a sports car (we were not expecting anything less than that) based on the M1 Homage Concept Car that was unveiled at the Villa d’Este Concours in Italy last year.

The concept car will be a two-seater with a middle engine coupe that will flaunt several eco-friendly features that have been designed especially for the BMW’s EfficientDynamics Engineering Program. So far, the maker are being very hush-hush about their treehugger project. Even the car’s fuel usage (hyrbid, electric or deisel) is still a mystery.

gold_folding_bike ilovemybike Goes Gold, Green & Compact In Just One Go

If the rich and the famous had a thing for biking, well, it sure has to be fancy. Now, a bike can’t have motors attached or a couch like seat because, then it’s not a bicycle. So, folks at ilovemybike thought of creating a real dipped in luxury two-wheeler for those who can afford it. Previously, we did hear of the Charge Plug bicycle with a huge $18,750 price tag but from the looks of it the new bike too will be a hit and with a lower price of $4,117.

Again, ilovemybike’s little creation is both compact and green; two things that one always looks in for a bike. The goldplating is 24 carat, and the bike folds pretty easily to fit into a small and discreet suitcase like bag.

bag2 Taryn Rose Makes Green The New Black

Taryn Rose really is much of a footwear brand. There are very few bags in its line. But we were clearly surprised by this gorgeous green which has the peculiar neutrality of black. This one’s called the Carrie Deerksin Satchel and is the perfect addition to any collection. Apart from being chic it has ample space to hold your wallet, keys, sunglasses, makeup and personal technology.

Being 12/12″ wide x 5 1/2″ deep x 8 1/2″ high, this one comes with dual handles with a drop of 6.5″. We were particularly impressed by the lace up detail on the lower part of the bag. The ornate hardware accents further enhance the beauty of this satchel. Being a good design, it also comes with a platform bottom with feet to protect the bag when set down.

A ropeway ride is a hot favorite for the adventurer within us. We too think it’s a great way to enjoy and relish nature’s beauty and vastness. But then what do we do about the treehugger inside us, after all the ropeway is usually powered by a diesel engine? Well, you can keep the guilt aside for Fredrik Hylten has created the Taoyou Ropeway.

This new ropeway comes with two seats complete with security belts and a sliding floor under the seats. Wondering what purpose does the latter serve? Well, it balances the tilt of the lift. The sustainable lift runs on two wires that are powered by solar panels present on the roof. The designer has used double wires because they offer better wind stability and help increase the distance between the towers too.

Pedal Power: Four-Wheeled Rail Rider Or Trailcart ATV
Posted in Automobile, Car, Eco-friendly on 3 June 2008

Trailcart ATV

I just go crazy with the thought of riding a two-stroke carbon-spewer on rough woods, slashing up the lawn and terrifying the natural world but wonder if there is any meticulous way to travel. Whilst electric ATVs are a great step towards this trend, here comes a second option of pedal power, worth a try. Called the “Trailcart,” it is a human-powered four-wheeler with enduring four-wheel drive. True it doesn’t have that much of torque as an ATV powered by an engine but for sure it would be a wise oprion with obvious benefit: the manufacturers are working out ways to maintain its weight under 50 kilograms, making it comfortable enough to lift over impediments that it might not otherwise clear.

For now the Trailcart isn’t available for sale but you can clean your hands over “Rail Runner” by paying off just $2,000. The pedal-driven rail runner is capable of traveling along abandoned railway lines.

If you happen to discuss the availability of limited edition products then dare not miss the self-destructible table. Literally speaking, if within time you cannot mange to feel the pleasure of this table then you can never avail that in future. Dubbed as This Table Will Self-Destruct, they say every time the table is constructed, a pixel seems to be reduced.

The top base of the table is essentially a big lattice, which is gradually being jigged with holes. Here limited edition is being used in different sense as the company claims to keep producing it till the time it is no longer usable. Till date, almost 25 pixels are missing and a small visist to their website would let you locate those gaps. If you also wish to owe one then ink a neat deal by dropping $980.
