The usual perception and image that people have of gamers is that they are geeky, boring and that they are terrible couch potatoes with a bulging stomach and no sense of style. However, the geeks and gamers that are rich enough may not be interested in the usual stuff we cover like fashion, luxury and yachts but they would certainly be interested in an expensive gaming table that would help them unload some of the money they have in their bank accounts.

Thus, for the unsuspecting geek, here is a gaming table that has been conceived by Playerati and Gorenje, which allows the geek to invite other nerds and serve them champagne, red wine, (alas, what a waste of refined lifestyle) and other goodies from the GameBar table, and later allowing the guests and the host himself or herself to play games!

Games that can be accommodated into the GameBar are poker, roulette, black jack and others. However, if the table is used in casinos and places like that, the GameBar table is actually quite cool. The table conceals a refrigerated core where the geek can store champagne and other drinks and also a remote control to turn the table into normal shape so that the geek can continue playing games.

Gorenje does not like to keep a free moment for itself. Take IFA 2008 for instance, the brand made it quite big for itself with the iPod fridge. Critics were quite take with the novelty of the range. And now as IFA 2009 sets in, it is the SmarTable that is taking in all the admiration for their famously zealous makers.

The design is inspired by ‘Beyond White’ which really is the central theme of Gorenje’s theme in this year’s presentation. And once again, it is designer Matevz Popic who has every reason to bask in the glory of his product. It is him who gave the table in reference a colorful makeover. According to him, this trendy shade of purple is quite a hit this season.

We couldn’t have agreed more for the striking contrast between the white and purple is stark and very artistic. The SmarTable has been made in white Kerrock and is very durable. Being easily treatble, it is a low-maintenance composite material. Plus a remote controlled referigerator has been integrated in its central cylindrical foot.

It’s just like one of those high end refrigerators replete with the latest features. What makes it an enviable must-have for those wanting to show off with its in-built beauty rather than colourful fridge magnets, is the embedded Swarovski crystals.

You find Swarovski crystals in the unlikeliest of places and on things you would not have imagined to sport them, these days. The 352 liter capacity fridge is one of those honorable additions though.

It is labelled Crystallized Swarovski Elements, by Gorenje. The crystals are embedded in an almost perfect rhythm on the black coloured doors of the fridge, and along its sides.

A Touch Screen Display, odour elimination filter, adjustable fleet, radio receiver and electronic control, vacation mode and thoughtful organisation in its shelves which includes two vegetable drawers and four door shelves, are the other features of this refrigerator. The fridge model, is however available only in Europe.

 Even if it were available in other parts of the world, would you want an superbly elegant, but brilliantly expensive fridge in your kitchen? In spite of an opulently made cooking counter that is. It is for you to take a call.
