The designs of gadgets and appliances made especially with the thought of saving space have increasingly improved. Ever since the industry realised the huge market they were missing out on because they hadn’t considered the needs of students living in college dorms or people in mini-apartments, micro appliances (especially for the kitchen) have become a norm.

MicroFridge manufactures a host of appliances designed with the concept of being effective space-saving products. The all-in-one microwave and fridge runs on a single power cord and doesn’t just effectively reduce the amount of space required, but also does away with the ensuing chaos and possibility of electrical hazards reminiscent of small spaces and multiple electrical appliances. The products may not be big on style but the minimalistic designs would appeal to most individuals. Since they have been designed specifically for college-dorm, military or small apartment settings, the simplicity of the designs also makes more sense.

A Modular Refrigerator You Will Not Mind Sharing

Modular Refrigerator

Stefan Buchberger’s design reminds me of my university days when I was living with a few classmates. Its not as if I am a sucker for cleanliness but I dearly wanted a germ free refrigerator but could never manage it, thanks to my room mates who would keep mouldy bread and sour fruits in the fridge making it nearly impossible to use the common fridge. Himself a student at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna, Buchberger has created a modular fridge unit for the Electrolux Design Lab competition 2008 that lets you use a refrigerator on a multiple sharing basis. The fridge comes in various modules that have separate doors much like your rack in the university. So now you have a choice to clean (or keep dirty) your refrigerator as per your convenience. I can predict that this product is going to be a real heartthrob among the students once it hits the shelves.

If may seem a bit pricey to you and me but ask a Star Wars aficionado and he would say: “Realize the priceless value in owning such beauty and you won’t question its material price tag.” So true!

Sub-Zero Refrigerator Maintains Freshness Via NASA Air-Purification Technology
Posted in Home Appliances, Technology on 11 August 2008

Sub-Zero Refrigerator

Literally speaking refrigerators has no exclusivity if they restrict their persona to their customary cooling effect. I always wonder if manufacturers can take a step ahead by accommodating draught beer system or would have masked corner for secret office drink parties. And to mu much anticipation, the Sub-Zero models comes laden with power-packed features and their novel offering exemplifies that. The incorporated NASA designed filtration system refills the air every 20 minutes after purging bacteria, whiffs, and infinitesimal contaminants.

It is a clear indication that food will stay fresher for a longer period of time, thereby erasing the possibility of your fridge producing foul smell. The integrated fridge series is anticipated to hit the market soon in a variety of forms. Well, we don’t have any information about its pricing.
