Designing living spaces for the far away future can be a difficult thing but it still remains a favourite with a lot of people. Futuristic gadgets and spaces ;ets the creativity really flow unrestricted and the most amazing of these could actually become reality in some time.

Unfortunately, designers often get carried away with an idea that has taken root in their mind and seem unable to let go of it, even when the concept doesn’t look that great in design. Introducing the kitchen of the future, Electrolux H2O Future Kitchen 2099, which is built around a great concept but looks strangely unappealing. The kitchen, which is designed around the claytronic atom, comes in a portable cube which can then be arranged and set up as the buyer wishes.

The self cleaning cube can be upgraded with required applications and everything in it is powered by H2O fuel cells. Sadly, the kitchen designed by Peter Vardai ends up looking like a design disaster with the dining table set looking like something unmentionable painted in the worst colour choices. Not what we want to see in the future.

The technology that we never even dreamt of for our cooking experiences has taken shape. Electrolux has crated new Libero Point mobile cooking unit that successfully achieves odorless experience of cooking indoors outdoors too. This compact unit has been designed keeping all the needs of a cook out in mind. It can hold up to to Libero Line appliances as well as Anti-Odor triple filtering ventilation system that absorbs steam and all sorts of smells that are produced while grilling, steaming ot frying.

The Air filtration system is self-contained and comes equipped with three kinds of filters – a dishwasher-safe mechanical filter to cp[ature the bigger particles of steam and grease, a fabric filter for small sized specs and there us a zeolite filter too.

The exterior is wrapped in heavy duty stainless steel and has space for a rather generous glass and stainless steel front serving shelf. The mobile unit runs on four wheels. You can pick one in your favorite color.

Rendez-vous  has an energy shield that brings appliances to life without you even having to plug them in! Place the blender on its surface and it starts working! Its modular drawers can hold stoves or refrigerator beneath the table, tucked away to make dining convenient.

Volare which is somewhat like Lounge Bar is actually a kitchen itself, mounted on the wall. It suits space crunch situations. It has a modular system to allow customizing, foldable induction stove, can hold an ice-dispenser, tea/coffee unit and oven. Its exteriors come in many colours and painted finishes.

Oh, don’t we just love the modern outlook of a kitchen. Well, so far probably the most ignored part of a house, the culinary lab is finally getting its due in this day and age. First, it were the hi-tech appliances like the internet-enables fridges, smart ovens, coffee machines and what not. So, it was time for a clutter-free kitchen space. Giorgio Armani was among the first ones to introduce a disappearing kitchen like The Calyx.

And not brand Electrolux has something to offer in the same line. Well, lately it introduced two hi-tech kitchen concepts especially for a generation that likes to do things the tech-savvy way. The two are called Rendez-vous, which is an interactive dining table, and Volare, a fold-away artistic kitchen.

Now, Rendez-vous comes with a tabletop with an inductive cooking system on the whole surface that utilizes sensor technology to break away from the dedicated cooking zones. This means, you can just about place the pan anywhere on the tabletop and start cooking. Volare, on the other hand, keeps an entire kitchen tucked in a illuminated piece of art that keeps in tune with the overall home decor.

The best way to enjoy fun weekend with pals is to get a barbecue going. Too bad that the fun weekend always ends with burnt meat and no time to circulate amongst your friends. Blame it on the old barbecue grill that is sure to ruin your weekend.

The Electrolux Island Barbecue is a complete barbecuing master on its own. Not only is it a polished freestanding bbq grill, the Electrolux Island Barbecue also has an FSC certified wooden teak bar. So, while you’re busy grilling away your lady love can ensure that the spirit of the crowd is kept high with the bubbly flowing. The proximity of the bar also means that you can serve out the drinks while you are handing out the food. Made of professional grade stainless steel, the grill is gas fuelled and can hold a 10-12kg gas bottle. Additionally, it has cooling drawers to keep the beverages and is big enough for 15 wine bottles. Another cooling drawer is present to keep food fresh.

Cleaning your home is obviously not something you would do on your own when you’re rich enough for that mansion but your hired help should not be caught with even a vacuum cleaner that doesn’t declare your decadent lifestyle. The cleaner designed by Lukaz Jemiol, a Polish fashion designer, has found a place in the Guinness Book of World Records as the most expensive vacuum cleaner on the planet.

Worth 13,825 pounds, only one of the extravagant appliances has been made. If, however, you plan on never cleaning your house and placing this in the living room to make the room shine, you could request Electrolux and they just might make one for you.

Ergorapido may be just a vaccumm cleaner, but it is being celebrated as perhaps the most attractive Electrolux product ever. Maybe it is the back crystals adding to the beauty of an otherwise mundane gadget type but we must say that effort does not go wasted. Complete with all the advatages of a technically advanced vaccuum cleaner, Ergorapido is lightweight and is easy to use.

Behind the attractive design, there is a whole set of manual workforce units and vertical colmuns that work together in unison to give you that satisfying cleaning process. We hear that the Ergorapido, created by Luke Mistletoe, has a whirl-like suction power. The maker Electrolux claims it to be the most beautiful cooktop in the world. Rightly named Aurora, the newest illuminated induction cooktop by the international home appliances brand is a perfect blend of latest technology with modern art. Aurora will impress you because it’s clean in white and looks like an  elaborate chopping board. Yes, its minimalist and futuristic design is its biggest strength.

Based on a white Corian base, Aurora has 4 separately controlled induction zones ensuring a powerful, safe and precise cooking experience. The 9 heat settings and booster function for all zones allows you to maximise output with a lot of ease. Then there are the additional techie razzmatazz like touch controls, cooking timer with an acoustic signal, Stop/Go function, child lock and a safety cut-out.

Kudos to all the technology and research gone into Aurora but frankly, we are more smitten by it’s unusual design. The LED perimeter lends its own drama while the white base assures us of cleanliness with a touch of the modern. A great item for $10,000 to blur the  distinction between the kitchen and the living area.
