Some dogs just get lucky as many of them are luxuriously pampered by their owners. This time too, some of them will get very lucky. Marc Jacobs presents a limited edition luxurious dog carrier that was displayed on Tuesday, the 24th of November at the ‘L’ Excellence du Savoir-Faire exhibition at Sotheby’s auction house in London.

The dog carrier was offered at the exhibition alongside other famous accessories created by famous designers. They included Louis Vuitton limited-edition, special order pieces by Damien Hirst, Chef Ferran Adria, photographer Annie Leibovitz and musician Gustavo Santaolalla. The base price ranges anywhere between 25,000 and 35,000 pounds, which is approximately between $41,800 and $58,500 US dollars.

Marc Jacobs himself stated in one of his recent interviews that ‘recession’ has hardly made any change in business. It is as flourishing as it used to be prior to the havoc created by recession all over the world. The tickets are priced between $149 and $299. The airways would operate between a number of cities but stops at a number of places increasing the travel duration.

Well, we were always aware of Cavalli’s love for the animal kingdom thanks to the many jungle prints or canine tributes in his lines. And now, as an obvious step forward he has gone to design clothes for everyone’s favorite furry beast. Cavalli’s wife Eva was heard saying that her hubby just wanted to bring some color and style to canine fashion.

The collection in reference includes clothes for small and medium-sized dogs (large dogs will definitely feel left out). You can pick between satin-trimmed doggy bathrobes, printed silk shorts, shearling jackets, velour tracksuits and even stuff like quilted dog carriers, patent-leather collars and leashes. The starting price is $110 (for a tee) that goes on to $1,200 (for the quilted carrier).

Researchers did a survey after involving around 3,000 people and propose that maintaining one of the minuscule dogs can set you back with a hefty sum of £90,000 over its lifetime. Celebrities like Paris Hilton, Britney Spears and Sharon Osbourne are known for having a fad for Mexican breed.

It was witnessed that Chihuahua owners are twofold as likely as wardens of other breeds to shell out dough on fresh meat, vegetables and gravy for their dog’s meal. Also, their growing bank balances nourishes their desire to buy costly jeweled collars for their pets, stylish jeweled doggie-apparels, pet pavilion, soft beddings, and pricey accessories and dog-house. Chihuahua, known to have a life-span of 13 years is calculated to cost its owner around £6,081 a year including veterinary costs, meals, grooming, kennels and insurance.
