The American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS) 91st annual meeting saw some really cool products being launched. One of them is what is being touted as the world’s first and only clean keyboard. What do they actually mean when they say that the keyboard is the cleanest in the world? Well, the keyboard cleans itself in a process called self-sanitizing technology.

It is aimed at the medical market and has been launched by Vioguard LLC. It comes with 2 25 watt UV lights and kills almost 99.99% of viruses and bacteria. It just needs 90 seconds to do so. You could stay assured that you would not be contracting any of the dreaded diseases which is caused by viruses and bacteria like H1N1, molds and others.

The Vioguard keyboard is a little expensive and costs $899. The keyboard looks quite good too, and with rising occurrences of microbial infections it is a good idea if all the offices got a keyboard such as this one. Perhaps if more number of keyboards are bought, then there could actually be a decrease in the cost of the keyboard too!

SGI has announced a new computer which it says is its line of personal supercomputers. Its high-performance however still means it uses just as much space as your average work station. It is fixed on a pedestal, with easy to use features and supports normal office power outlets. The Octane III as it is called, can have up to 80 high-performance cores and up to 1TB of memory. CPUs for the machine include Intel Xeon 5500 series, Dual-core Atom processors, and Xeon 3400 processors. The machine can be attached with a GP-GPU card from NVIDIA.

Would pricing be any less for a super computer of this nature! They start at $ 7,995.

This kind of tablet PCs are great for usage in flights and also while travelling in trains or on cruises. It makes things easy, and more convenient. Unfortunately, being a concept, his tablet-cum-laptop may never enter the market and even if it did, it sure will take a very long time.
