Brand Teague has just launched a new urban bike called Pulse. And we are told that it takes into consideration all the basic needs of cyclists today. Inspired by both fixed gears and cafe-racers, the bike as stuff that includes electric turn signals that are controlled by the handlebars. There is a luminescent frame too that lights up (which is our favorite part) when you require its aid, especially at night or at times when you want to impress a pretty lady!

The cage bike pedals reflect the pains the maker must have taken in developing the minute details of this cool bike. The pedals have been very smartly counterweighted so that they are always the right way around. This lets the biker enjoy the benefits of a three-fold increase in efficiency without having to worry about upside pedal at every single traffic light.

Loyalists of Teague will know that the company has dedicated 150 years of providing the latest, efficient and reliable bikes and their components. We are told that the designing here is controlled by a desire to recreate animal magnetism, which can be seen reflected in Pulse as well. Especially the triangle formed  by the luminescent frame is designer Dana Krieger’s tribute to the famou shape. We haven’t heard anything on the price yet. Read this space for more later!

Nicolas Yvars promises to take you on a retro ride to remember on the new Leather X Proteur bike that he has created by hand using vintage parts and high quality leather. According to it maker, the bicyle is great combination of his three passions, which we shall share (do not fret) – leathercraft, streetfashion and luxury.

For the uninitiated, ‘porteur’ means a type of cargo bike which was originally used by newspaper sellers in Paris. Yvars has tried to recreate the same vehicle of yore. And this was no mean task considering that fact that it took the designer a year to track down the bicycle parts. Again, let us remind you that the man has created the whole thing all by himself except for the frame painting and wheelbuilding.

There are several strokes of a simple genius seen in the Leather X Porteur bike like the hip flask attachment under the saddle as well as the hand-stitched detailing on the leather tube cover. The hardwork gone into making this one is more than evident. The big tyres add extra comfort in riding this one. And if you are wondering where you could buy this one from, we are afraid that’s not possible. Yvars is in no mood to sell and ride this beauty everyday!

If the rich and the famous had a thing for biking, well, it sure has to be fancy. Now, a bike can’t have motors attached or a couch like seat because, then it’s not a bicycle. So, folks at ilovemybike thought of creating a real dipped in luxury two-wheeler for those who can afford it. Previously, we did hear of the Charge Plug bicycle with a huge $18,750 price tag but from the looks of it the new bike too will be a hit and with a lower price of $4,117.

Again, ilovemybike’s little creation is both compact and green; two things that one always looks in for a bike. The goldplating is 24 carat, and the bike folds pretty easily to fit into a small and discreet suitcase like bag.

The company reps says that the bike has a unique quality of fitting in well in a helicopter as well as a regular bus, just in case you plan to take one despite the big bucks in your pocket. Also, you do have the option to insure the bike and be on the safer side.

You can move on mountains with this robust bicycle, and yet tuck it away in a car chest. Swiss Military XO is meant for harsh mountain terrains, and can be used in extreme weather conditions. With its sturdy wheels and simplistic shape, it still is classy.

For the adventure seeker out there in the hills and between peaks, the bicycle spells quality. It that has standard 26” wheels, is equipped with components that can be serviced at most bicycle or bike shops, which is usually hard. The bike can assume good speeds while on the move, with its front suspension fork and disc break. Yet, it is elegant and sports elan.

The high-point of Swiss Military XO however is its compact design. In just under half a minute, you can fold the bike without using as much as a screwdriver, and stash it away in a car rear, boat, a closet or even a private plane. Technology behind the bicycle however is patented. His latest wonder is adding a smile on a bike to make it such a sexy sport that I am sure that it going to be a campus trend shortly. Both the wheel have each an illuminated smiling face that will surely lighten the mood of the rider and the pedestrians as well. Effectively called Joyrider, this bicycle was presented at the ICA 2008 Gala earlier this year, and was priced around $3,600. I wish I had the time and spirit of my youth and I would have surely bought myself a Joyrider!

I am a bicycle lover myself but I detest the idea of having to park it everytime I go to the neighbourhood shop. Why not simply have a bike that I can use when I want to and can pack it and carry with me when I want to walk or halt! My amazing fantasy is being fulfilled by Yirong Yang, the master designer of bicycle who has designed a bike that can be turned into a unicycle any time you want to and can be folded and carried as per needs.

This wonderful design also participated at the International Bicycle Design Challenge. Called as Rotation � a city folding bike, it has adjustable handlebar, the saddle and front wheel. What better way to help making your city pollution free and at the same time grabbing the attention of people around you.

Check out the video review lately capture at Popular Mechanics that would enable you identify whether this fastidious bike is worth you while. Popularly known as the Giant Twist Freedom DX, it can roll up to 75 miles on an assortment of battery and human-powered pedaling, and the motor flaunts three diverse forms (Eco, Normal and Sport) to please your temper and riding necessities.

While this being just a concept, eyebrows are raised for the worthy contender to manufacture this concept and I seriously doubt the safety factor involved.
