$ 19,660 Batmobile ReplicaAttempts to replicate Batman’s super car have been intermittent and sometimes constant if not consistent in the past. But most replicas have been nearly like relics. In the past we have had the $ 1 million Batmobile from Sweden and in 1966 ther was Batmobile recreation by Barrett-Jackson.

You may be in for a surprise when you know, that you can actually own your own authentic Batmobile for a price. The model in question is a 1976 Lincoln Continental which has been price tagged $19,660.

Not limiting yourself to those gasps at visuals featuring Batmobiles in films or television, you may not be able to boast of its coming signatured with original Batman series characters. But if it is something you want to flaunt at your Halloween party and have loads of dollars in your kitty, go for it.

The replica has props such as lipstick-red Batphone and trunk-mounted faux exhaust stacks to go with it as accessories. The vehicle comes close to vintage fancy too. If you are a vintage collector, it has the right tones and looks for an exotic looking four-wheeler.

Posted in Automobile, Travel on 1 October 2009

Batmobile from Stockholm StreetNew only in a sense. Probably built by an ardent Batman fan who spent a whopping one million US dollars over 3.5 years to make this machine from a 1973 Lincoln Continental, this one is based on an old Batmobile model off the Batman comics.

But then, it takes a true Batman fan to devote as many as 20,000 working outs to complete the machine! It was spotted on the streets of Stockholm and sports the typical Batmobile gadgetry. Machine guns, video cameras to see behind you when you drive, bodywork that is flexible in height, and even a plasma TV.

Although Batmobile appeared in Batman comics as 1939, it has been built for and used in live action series for television and in the movies many times over since the 1950s.

Those of you who are real 80’s baby then you can easily recall watching the live-action Batman show at Six Flag’s Great Adventure around 1989. One ruthless eBay seller is gazing to get rid of one of the five actual Batmobiles from the Tim Burton classic demanding a sum of $500,000 at eBay. This operational coupe is structured like a spaceship that has tires attached onto it to make it street legal.

Some peep into the specks of the coupe: Measuring 20 feet long and 8 feet wide, this custom-built chassis has a Chevrolet 350 motor attached to it. To eneter into this vehicle, you have to jump from the top from where the canopy opens, likewise in the movie.
