There is nothing better than a cool brewery where you could go and check out barrels of beer lying waiting to be bottled. If you do not have the money to become many of the many “owners” of the brewery, you could also pledge smaller amounts such as $5, $25 or $100. However I am not sure if that is going to fetch you the lifetime supply of brewery. Just one look at Chef Pierre Negreverne’s “2″ Wine collection and you will definitely be in love. This very stylish liquor collection has been designed by French ideator K:-hossi Aguessy who is well known for extending a simple elegance to all his delicious cuisines. And now his wine too is being regarded as a ’simple and up to the purpose wine’.

We are told that Aguessy had been breeding this vintage guard wine with a lot of care and hardwork for about six months now. The result? Well, the alcohol earned itself the rich aromas of raspberry mixed with a heady dose of  cherries that complement the pretty deep hint of cinnamon. Wow, now that is one concoction we’d love to spend our saturday evenings sipping on.

Not just that, Aguessy has also managed to introduce traditional materials like African brown Makassar wood along with corian to form the extremely stylish bottle that stores this wonderful spirit. The harmonious blend lends a very classy and futuristic (with traditional elements) touch to the whole affair. Buy this for a very interesting corner in your mini bar.

Serious collectors of fine spirits fall short of nothing when it comes to adding something super quality to their collection. In that case, how do £10,000 for a bottle of whiskey sound to you? Insane? No, not really. The latest offering from The Dalmore distillery in Scotland is being celebrated as worth every bit of that huge figure. Dubbed The Sirius Vintage, this whiskey has been maturing since 1951 and this fact makes it the oldest, finest and rarest whiskey available in the world.

On top of all this, Dalmore is not sparing anything to further add to its magic. Apparently, only 12 bottles of this very exclusive single malt scotch will be made available at the duty free stores at the major airports across the globe.

Experts like Richard Paterson judge the cask strength at 45% with taste that is both distinguished and elegant. One can also enjoy flavors of intense citrus and honeyed chocolate as well as notes of coffee, walnut and liquorice spice in the concoction. Sounds like a dream, but the point is – are you willing to pay as much?

It is always a challenge coming up with a sequel. But not for Bowmore. This maker of full-bodied scotches has spent 45 years trying to avoid the unfortunate trend. They came up with the Black Bowmore in 2007 and folloed it with the White Bowmore in 2008. And now, they are all set to complete the spirited trilogy with the Gold Bowmore.

This high quality scotch was distilled on November 5, 1964 and was left to mature in three bourbon casks and one Oloroso sherry cask, neatly tucked below sea level. Once all the final products were mixed, the Oloroso cask’s sherry and walnut flavors found their way into this heady mix, also lending it a darker, reddish, amber-like tint.

Referred to as the final nectar, this one has a beautiful blend of passion fruit, papaya and vanilla too. Topping it all is the all pervading smoky peat undertones characteristic to the Bowmore trademark. There will be only 701 bottle of the Gold Bowmore with a price tag of $6,250 on each. The bottle will sit in a Burr Elm box with hand-numbering.

Cactus Designers have attempted to bring a change to the scene with a very futuristic makeover for the bar. This organisation is based in Lyon and consists of some very talented French freelance designers who are passionate about innovating within the home environment.

The work we are talking about works by the principles of a lounge bar and can be wall-mounted too. The entire concept based on the cabinet-like design very interestingly merges the home bar with the rest of your furniture. There are three seperate compartments in the bar hat preserves the finest of your wines at the temperatures they need to be stored in.

The extreme left side of the cabinet functions as the service area. It also has a silver ice dispenser as well as a suspended tray for mixing drinks. There are plenty of integrated lighting too to add to your drinking atmosphere. We are told that the design is inspired by the patches of the ice floe with frost effect.

Macallan enjoys an unparallel popularity with those who appreciate sipping on high quality Scotch. And the buzz is that the famous distillery is all set to launch a new family of single malts. Called the Macallan 1824 Collection (after the founding year of the company), this one comprises of four distinct tastes and expression. Mind you, each liquor has been created by the Master Whiskey Makers and carry within them an infusion of gorgeous flavors and aromas that we associate with the brand.

The four bottles carry the names – Select Oak, Whiskey Maker’s Edition, Estate Ramsay and Master Blender Emeritus. The last one has been dedicated to the parent company, The Edrington Group and to Bob Dalgarno.

For you information, the Macallan Whiskey Maker has some 50 years of experience to boast of. And the new Macallan 1824 Limited Release is the most exotic for it’s bottled at 48% after being drawn from sherry seasoned Spanish oak casks when at the peak of maturity. The price tag is $2K. The Collection is up for sale at Travel Retail outlets in the Americas and Europe and has just been launched in Asia at Singapore airport.

Sag Harbour’s Sen is garnering a lot of interest these days thanks to the exclusive Cointreau Pearls that it’s offering on the menus. The pearls, we are told, are made only with a special kit designed by French mixologist Fernando Castellon and there are only 20 of these so far in the US. So, you can well imagine the popularity pertaining to its exclusivity.

They call this process of making the booze pearls ’spherification’. It was specially designed for Cointreau keeping in mind its unique natural sugar content and pH level. The result is often referred to as Cointreau caviar, which is what the pearls remind you of. Also, no chemicals are used for this little magic in your cocktail and so no tastes are altered. Only Evian and a sphere gel are used.

So all that they do is drop the formula in a calcite bath and later kept in water where the pearls get harder. The longer they sit in water, the harder they get. An amazing innovation, the booze pearls look spectacular floating in champagne and sinking gracefully in pomegranate martinis.

This amazing concept brings forward the idea of wine being filled in a glass and the sandblasted design is revealed as the wine fills the glass with quaint floral designs. It would be amazingly chic if you could get these glasses before the next party! No information about the price or availability, but contact the designer!

If you are the kind of person who believes in good fine and fine wine, you really would know how to live life. However, while serving food, you might have realized it isn’t always easy to keep the food and wine without toppling the bottle. This elegant dish designed by Young Sang Eun for Veuve Clicquot not only looks stylish and chic but can hold both food and wine in the same place.

It is almost a surrealist design that in my opinion totally blows your mind. The dish apparently even maintains the temperature of your food and wine and chills it just enough to set your palates on fire, in a good way. I would love to get one of these dishes myself, if only I could lay my hands on them!

I guess one will have to wait until the dish is marketed out in the open in retail. I could go on praising the design but when it comes in the market, I would silently buy and pretend it does not exist so that I would be one of the lucky few customers!
