Diageo has planned the perfect way to celebrate Dubai Duty Free’s 25th anniversay. A limited-edition of the rarest Johnnie Walker Scotch Whiskey called Johnnie Walker Blue Label King George V Edition will mark the big event.

Regarded as the ‘crown jewel’ of the Johnnie Walker clan, the King Geroge V limited edition of just 250 comes in a hand crafted lacquered case and is numbered too.

We know that the Dubai Duty Free has been housing many cool offerings from Johnnie Walker like Blue, Gold and King George V variants. But now it will also display the newest addition in reference. There will also be an engraving and gift-wrapping station to mark the 25th year of the travel retailer.

Diageo feels that the King George V limited edition is just perfect for the occasion because the process of making the limited-edition box is painstakingly detailed. Some 12 hand-applied layers of lacquer are laid down in individual coats for over 18 hours. Once that is achieved, skilled craftsmen follow it up with hours of polishing. And so the it will function as a great metaphor for Dubai Duty Free’s work.
