We have reported on the ‘Oasis of the Seas’ before. We are talking about the largest ship in the world. It is owned by Richard D. Fain and costs a whopping $1.4 billion. Well, the good news is that the ‘once-upon-a-time’ concept has finally become a reality. This one is five times bigger than the Titanic. And trust us, that is just the tip of the iceberg for it has space for seven neighbourhoods, an ice rink, a golf course and a 75- seat outdoor amphitheater.

The technical name of the Oasis is NB-1363 and this baby is so tall your neck might just get strained only trying to look at it. Experts say that the boat blends the glitter of Las Vegas with the fantastical edge of Disney.
The ‘Oasis of the Seas’ also boasts of a huge and impressive line of entertainment options that includes scuba diving lessons, rock climbling walls, surfing simulation wave makers, a basketball court as well as four pools. Again, the largest liner also has an gorgeous piazza complete with shopping areas and eating spaces. The designers also included a luxe spa where you can get botox treatments and teeth whitening sessions.

The fans of speed in water must try their hands at an Agouti yacht. Just do it once, and you will know just what you have been missing out on. Well, each of these have been crafted from solid wood and measure up to 20 to 40 meters in length. As a matter of fact, the Agouti Yachts are quite proud of their traditional boat building methods that seamlessly absorb the modern technologies as well. And all the credit for it goes to the two visionary brothers- Michael and Andreas Grieger.

By the way, it took 50,000 hours of handwork on 40 cubic meters of mahogany, 50 cubic meters of cedar wooord, 650 square meters and two tons of carbon-epoxy resin to make their most recent and spectacular 20 m yacht.
This one draws its strength from a two 10-cylinder MAN diesel engines that have more than 2,200 bhp. In other words, Agouti can go real fast, to the effect of 32 knots. However, the ambitious designers are aiming to increase the capacity such that the max speed can be 50 knots. As for the interior, it is adorned with the best in mahogany and leather.

The water speedster in question is a two seater but packed with the most amazing of futuristic technology and specs. There is the Audi Rio Lemans Prototype that helps the V12 TDI diesel engine to produce 650 horsepower. A very slick machine, this one has a fully convertible top, joystick steering, OLED display screens as well as several hull stabilizers.

In all honesty, the Vivace26 nothing less than a spaceship but meant for the waters. The colors have been kept metallic with a dull silver front that has black and blue support from behind. A very well though of combination, we must say. Though it will be sometime before this boat becomes a reality, we suggest you start saving up for this one might just burn a hole in your pocket.

Oceanco is a well known Dutch yachtbuilder and it has recently added another feaher to its superyacht cap. The new vessel in question has a very technical name, read Y708, and is already being touted as one of the most advanced version in the size 283 ft category. This one is still in production and will be ready only by 2012 and will come with a huge price tag of $150 million.

Referred to as a floating palace, this beauty has been designed by Russian Igor Lobanov. The target audience is definitely the oligarch set for who else can afford this mammoth luxury. Among the various amenities, the Y708 yacht features a library, sushi bar and cigar bar that are spread across it four decks along with many others.

Lobanov was guided by motion, elegance and privacy when desiging the superyacht. Perhaps that is why the crew passages are well hidden to ensure privacy. There are four guest cabins, two VIP suites as well as a master suite at your disposal to invite a large group of friends on board. 2 MTU will be powering this vessel, each producing 4,830 hp to allow it a speed of 20 knots.

Cigarette will usher in its 40th anniversary celebrations at the Lauderdale International Boat Show in a rather inimitable style. It will showcase the entire Cigarette powerboat range, a visual treat for powerboat fans.

The Cigarette 50’ Marauder will be its showstopper. This star of a powerboat has triple Mercury Racing engines, from the 850SCi to the thundering 1200’s, and can speed so swift you gape in awe. Visitors at the show can also get to see the iconic 38’ Top Gun. Top Gun is a typical old world kind of design in the Cigarette powerboat range, although the brand has embraced modernity and technology with ease. The model is easy to drive and has low maintenance, and is known for its superb handling characteristics.

Other Cigarette models are great too. The display’s new designs will be spectacular cockpits.

The Cigarette range display for this 40 year old brand established by the late Don Aronow at North Miami Beach, is evidently all about bringing to fore its commitment to quality, be it in the construction, power, rigging, upholstery and paint work of powerboats.

Brand Mastercraft is all set to embark on its first voyage in the big boat business. Now these are rather tricky waters, but that does not deter the maker of the MasterCraft 300. It is quite sure of its creation that extends along 30 feet with a 40 inch twin inboard boat. We are told that the company is hoping to reset the expectations of the buyer of how a day tripper should actually be.

The MasterCraft is a recreational vessel that sets new benchmark in luxury and technology. Its cockpit has an electric equipment that is standard for a big boat but if you like you can always opt for the Raymarine E80 that has a monitor with maps, radar and a 3-D terrain view of the ocean floor.

Then there is the tinted glass hardtop of the boat with its very own misting system. So, the guests have the privilege of enjoying seating on either side of the boat, irrespective of where the sun is. There is plenty of space for an electric grill or a flatscreen. You decide hunger if is more important for you than entertainment, or vice versa. The innards of the boat have hardwood floors, leather fabrics and a stand-up shower among other salient features. But the highlight is the Contour Zone that lets you control all the electronic systems aboard with a simple push of some buttons.

Luxury cruises are gaining a rather consistent popularity in the European seas. And when that just started, the MSC Splendid made a rather bold, loud and extravagant foray into the world of sea travel. The most grand-daddiest moment of all was the presence of actress Sophia Loren at its sail from Barcelona in July 2009 that spoke quite a lot about it being a special boat.

Now quite some time has passed since the sail of this opulent, luxury liner, but the truth is that the world still hasn’t heard much about its little feats. Its maker claims that the MS Splendida is perhaps the most gorgeous cruise ship in the world. The passegners experience the special European-Italian feel in the plush interiors. There are five swimming pools, 12 whirlpool baths, 18 bars and several lounges with a discotheque with some crazy music.

Such a tremendous claim is substantiated by a whole staircase being decorated with Swarovski crystals worth $2.8 million. Even the grand piano shines with the sparkle of 20,000 Swarovski crystals. Each of the 99 suites here have their very own marble bathrooms with a full size bath, fluffy robes and slippers, Egyptian cotton sheets, memory mattress, pillow menu,complimentary  mini-bar and a delightful personal butler. Boy, now who’s gonna top that!

We are quite impressed by the fact that the makers of Marino 52 have left no stone unturned to make this yacht as maginificent as its name. There are cleats, a projectile anchor, convertible lounge sofas as well as a computer-controlled helm station. And then, it is big enough to have 15 to 18 people enjoy the seas comfortably.

Just like in a sci-fi movie, the Marino 52 remains concealed when underway. The concealment panels can be stowed to bring out a whole suite of high-end appliances. We are quite taken by the highly polished stainless sink, microwave, referigerators, ice maker, electric cooktop and a BBQ grill. Of course, there is a trash compactor too.

The firms displayed a real size model of the 125 sq ft wide vessel in Ancona, Italy, recently.

Its width is two thirds its length of 190 ft. So it looks like a yacht chipped off on its latter half.

Its back has a 30 metre beach! Naval architect Mauro Sculii feels its strange dimensions give it stability. WHY is built on three decks, has a swimming pool on the bow, and a helipad.

A salon with a cinema, a music room, a library and a dining room that opens on to the sea apart, its owner will have a 200-square-metre suite covering all of third floor and a private terrace. It can house 12 guests in five suites, 20 member crew, has three large sky lights and 300 square metres of windows.

For the eco-conscious, it will also have a low consumption LED lighting system and solar panels on its roof and sides to cut fuel, and an in-built waste management system.

The famous Monaco-based yacht maker Wally has joined hand with lucury brand Hermes to create a very fine dream boat by the name of WHY Wally-Hermes Yacht. A rare of exclusivity defines this splendid design. The most latest of all revolutionary technologies have been used to make wthis 38-meter wide yacht that takes the WallyIsland concept a step further. The dramatic sillhouette is spectacular.

Interestingly, the triangular hull has been shaped so that it doesnt have a superstructure and none seems to be complaining. The interiors reveal a water resistant buffalo leather lining across the three decks as well as a 25-meter interior swimming pool alongside a 36-meter artificial beach.

WHY is also very eco-friendly. A diesel engine powers this yacht with a surface of photovoltaic panels that stretch out to 900 square meters across the roof and sides of the vessel. Already tested in Gothenberg, Sweden the yahct is waiting to be tested in the big seas.
