Move over Scuba Diving. Just diving into deep waters to experience those underwater thrills is passé. You can now ride in water, not just over it. With a Scubacraft. It is a self-contained submersible and is also a capable surface watercraft. The craft, uses an internal combustion engine to reach a dive site where it can go in deep water of about 100 feet. The Scubacraft is a brainchild of Wales engineers.

Although the water vehicle is submersible, it is not a pressurized submarine. It does not need cranes to lower the craft below water. It does not need boats to carry it into the sea. The underwater thriller vehicle is much less expensive than submarines of similar size. If you dream of owning it though, unofficial figures rate it at $ 164,000.

The craft is sure to boost underwater tourism further, and has reportedly aroused the interest of film-makers. In future, you may even expect Scubacraft to feature a dedicated filming platform, as it is in concept stage now. For the moment, the craft is available in two models – the SC3 that is in prototype form, and the bigger SC6 which is yet to be built. For both, batteries will power electric thrusters under water.

Airboard is a petite gasoline powered personal hovercraft or a propeller driven vehicle, that has an electric start. Start it up, hop on board, adjust the throttle and move on. Its makers say it is easy to control, maintain and ideal for riders who are aged above 14 years.

The handle bar has two levers, one to lift the engine speed and another to thrust. By bending  backwards, a small propelling wheel at the rear of the vehicle can be used to touch the ground to help accelerate the hovercraft.

To turn left, lean left. To turn right, lean to the right. To stop, let go of controls. The machine or engine to propel it is a four stroke petrol engine. Airboard can move on mown grass, asphalt, pavement, or any surface with no stones and litter.

Signs of the recession lifting up have been a huge welcome, even in the luxury market. Well this moolah-related happening has given a reason to most brands to go real wild and creative on their theme-based luxe products. Take Mobiado for instance, this Canadian mobile phone maker has just created the the 350 Pioneer to join the space-themed luxury phone by Vertu.

We are told that 350 Pioneer has a body that’s been machined from none other than spacecraft aluminum with clear anodizing to achieve an exclusive and hard surface. Once this is done, the maker inlaid the frame with sapphire crystals as well as an infrared window made from a single piece of ruby crystal.

The phone has buttons made from combinations of sapphire crystal and stainless steel. There are gold-plated stainless steel screws too. So far, they have decided to make only 37 units since it symbolises the number of years that Pioneer 10 spacecraft has been traveling through space. Among othere features, you can enjoy multimedia capabilities, a 3.2 megapixel camera, a 2.36″ 16 million colors display as well as an integrated GPS, and Bluetooth and micro USB connectivity.

You can see the cute little hammers too that beat playfully when the sonnerie is activated. We have a sneaky feeling that you might need to wind this watch quite often.

We like technology being utilised to bring us new pleasures of luxury. U.S Submarines too seems to be a believer of that what with the launch of a whole new range of cool under water vehicles that will impress you with their aesthetics and technical superiority. Marketed under the tag of Personal Luxury Subamarines, these subs have been constructed by using Ashler’s suite of programs like Graphite and Cobalt. Apparently, there was a blatant refusal to use PCs and AutoCAD over Mac.

We are not complaining because the effort definitely was outlandish, in a very positive way. These hi-tech subs seem to be coming straight out of an Austin Powers film. We do not mean the vivacious color themes but dreamy is more like it. There is a lounge, an impressive bedroom that gives you a great view of the surroundings complete with luxurious corridors.

It is indeed a great feeling to realise that the best in technology has been used to prepare this little feat. The 3D creations have been working quite well so far. But we do hope that they finally hit the waters too. Now, that will be a real proud moment.
