Daniel Swarovski collection of couture jewellery and accessories celebrates its 20th anniversary, in true Swarovski style. It has brought out 20 new bags and 20 new pieces of jewellery. The collection has oversized rings, necklaces, gorgeous clutches and evening bags.
Swarovski’s latest innovation, is the Pointiage® technique, involves a method of hand-setting, enhances the crystal and illuminates its sparkle. Celebrity, Precious and Star rings by Swarovski are examples of this technique. Besides the anniversary collection, are old stones that you could find on several Swarovski necklaces, and other Swarovski products.
For a brand of crystals in accessories and practically everything around, the fan following is huge across the world. It is established, with even societies being formed in the name of Swarovski.

He continues to fetch in those millions. In life he suffered, but there was no dearth of riches in his prime. In death his personal belongings rake in millions, auction after auction. For, his global fan following sets him a class apart. The iconic crystal-encrusted glove of Michael Jackson that became a symbol of luxury and a rage among fans, is gone under the hammer for for £44,300, which is approximately $70,144.
Michael Jackson had worn the white glove with tiny lights at his 1984 tour selling in the Profiles in History auction at Calabasas, near Los Angeles, for £44,300, approx $70,144.
The piece was one of the two made for the singer by Ted Shell, with shinning bugle beads and Austrian crystal rhinestones. It had as many as 50 tiny lights drawing power from nine volt battery in the cuff.

What could be the limit of luxury? Surpassing all barriers in giving that touch of luxury to things worldly, an anniversary gift by her husband left Digi Foo-Kune floored. A Mughal Emperor once got an entire tomb built in marble for his wife, albeit posthumously. Luxury holidays, cruises, and diamonds are the order of today in anniversary gifting. Digi Foo-Kune’s husband took her to the Cycle Show 2009 and gave her an ultimate, yet unusual surprise – a custom built titanium bicycle.
What’s more, it has inset diamonds and 18ct gold parts. It wears this sleek look but that is just part of it. A lot of hard work went into building the bike. Jeweller Nicholas James of Hatton Garden to customize the bike. Not so surprisingly, building the bike took several months of labour to complete.
Would someone ever want to take this bike out into the open and ride it among people? The dazed wife cannot too, for a while, because the magnificent piece will be on display at Nicholas James’ showroom in Hatton Garden till December end.

The picture above features the delicate set of wings crafted from 14 carat rose gold resting on a burgundy cord. This bracelet is part of the ‘You’re An Angel’ collection sold under the brand Dyanne Belle. No that is not the name of the jewelery designer. Deb Schecter has dedicated her collection to her aunt Dyanne who was one of the founding members of SHARE, a non profit organisation meant to help people suffering from breast or ovarian cancer. Dyanne herself was diagnosed of breast cancer when she was just 28, back then in 1970.
The ‘You’re An Angel’ range of bracelets is aiming to raise funds as well as awareness about breast and ovarian cancer during this month of October.

For all that glitters IS gold! This could be the new adage if the current trends around the world are anything to go by. With the soaring rates of the yellow metal, folks have suddenly realised that it makes for the best investment choice available today. On top of this, gold makers and jewelery brands are leaving no stone unturned to further promote the golden cause. Recently, it was a hawk-shaped golden figurine spotted in Hong Kong that is worth $6,290. But it is Tokyo that is the centre of our focus today.
The most hi-end district of the capital city of Japan, Ginza saw the Tokyo Gold Week exhibition which was organised with the sole purpose of encouraging folks to buy more and more gold. A 15 kg pure gold artifact made many a heads turn. Then it was the Tanaka gold jewelry shop that had gold ingots collected form various countries spread out like a casino table.

October is special. No we do not mean because of Halloween but because of a more important reason – it is the breast cancer awareness month. And David Yurman is all set to celebrate it by launching a bunch of lavish pink dog tags for his Women’s Tag Collection. Now, that’s a new one. For one, the “male jewelry type” becomes feminine that too in a shade of pretty pink, which is also the color of breast cancer support.
The picture above features the Pink Rhodonite and Sterling Silver Breast Cancer Dog Tag on the left. This has been emblazoned with the DY logo and carries a price tag of $450. On the right, there is the Pave Diamond Encrusted model which is more eye-catching of the two (though we like the left one better for it’s toned down nature and simple elegance plus it’s cheaper too) and costs $950.

Africa is a name that comes to the mind when thinking of diamonds. And diamond jeweler Royal Asscher has comes up with a whole range dedicated to the same, and call it Stars of Africa. This collection features some 18 rings each decorated with beautiful, high-quality diamonds that have been enclosed in a fluid-filled sapphire dome. In this interesting design theme, the precious ices move about just the way sparkles do in a snow globe, leaving trails of fire and color!
Choices of white, yellow and rose gold are offered in this stunning ring collection that is priced between $4,950 and $7,900. These will actually hit the markets on later this month. And the story does not end here. Royal Asscher has decided to forward $150 from the sale of each ring to educational, health, micro-economic and self-sufficiency programs all over the continent of Africa.

Perfume bottle necklaces have been a part of a fashion history for a along time now. Well, didn’t the fashionistas of yore carry their favorite fragrance wrapped around their necks most of the times. Yes, small intricately decorated flasks have been sported by main chains to let the pretty ladies take a dab of their perfume whenever and wherever they liked. This old tradition is not re-entering the market courtesy designer Chhaya Kapadia under the brand Maya Jewels.
We are told that Chhaya built her company based on three principles – intricate designs, use of forgotten traditions of art and skilled craftsmanship. Her creations are surrounded by bright colors and rather elaborate designs thanks to the strong impression her upbringing in Mumbai, India made on her.
