$55,000 Ping Pong Table By Rirkrit Tiravanija Is Exceptionally Beautiful!
Posted in Designer, Furniture, Home Decor, Luxury on 17 November 2009

ping pong table

Ping pong isn’t a very strenuous sport but the English aristocrats who invented it made it a most stylish one. Whether you play a game of ping pong at the dinner table for amusement or at a real table for the sheer joy of winning over a component, table tennis has come a long way as a much admired sport.

Somewhere along the way, though, table tennis lost much of its appeal as a sport but all that is going to change when people lay their eyes on the chrome ping pong table. Designed by Buenos Aires- born contemporary artist Rirkrit Tiravanija, the ping pong table carries all the allure of style, luxury and the raw call of the sport itself. Designed for Nathalie Karg’s Cumulus Studio, the ping pong table is mirror polished in stainless and only 10 units of the limited edition collection would be made.

gil-dezer-porsche Spiderman at work: Sticking a Porsche over your front door!

I know, it sounds like a Photoshop gimmick that just made its way onto the net, but when we double checked this claim it turns out that it actually is true! So, there are many car fanatics across the globe (millions) and many others who specifically love the Porsche, but surely none can compete with the sheer craziness of Gil Dezer. This dud was wacky enough (and we mean that in a real good way) to actually take the help of a crane, go through plenty of trouble and let go of a driving option to put a 1950 Porsche Spyder 550 on the top of his 8,000-square-foot condo! And when you look at it, it does look like the work of Spiderman; just that there are no strings attached!

It took an entire team of technicians, a crane and plenty of modifications to get the Spyder 550 up there and now Gil can control its headlights and horn from a touchscreen placed besides the door. Cool and crazy at the same time Gil could obviously afford to hang a car for as an indoor decorative as he own another 7 Porsches too (We told you he was a fanatic!)
