Albert Einstein will forever be etched in the memories of the coming generations with the particular photograph that has actually achieved an iconic status. Yes, we are referring to the one of the great scientist with his tongue sticking out. Well, New Hampshire auction company has just sold it for a huge $74,330 at a grand auction making the pic to be most expensive Einstein pic ever to be sold.

Photographer Arthur Sasse should be given the credit for capturing this quirky mood of the scientist way back in 1951 at his birthday celebration in Princeton. We are told that Sasse was trying to convince Einstein to pose for a pic but the scientist stuck out his tongue instead. Again, later Einstein ordered 9 copies of this pic and even signed one for news anchor Howard K. Smith with a message: “This gesture you will like, because it is aimed at all of humanity. A civilian can afford to do what no diplomat would dare. Your loyal and grateful listener, A. Einstein ’53.”

The pic is symbolic because it gives us a sneak peak in the McCarthysim that had enveloped the USA that even required scientists to report on their colleagues. The photograph has been purchased by David Waxman of NY.

Nikon may be considered by many as the ultimate when it comes to amazing picture quality in photography but the design of the cameras themselves leave consumers desiring for more. With the launch of the CoolPix series, people are left hoping for a ‘cool camera’ in the future.

The Neo Classic model of the Nikon CoolPix series has been designed with the intent of giving digital photography technology a taste of its ancestors. Unfortunately, it falls flat in this regard because the cameras neither look stylish nor do they appear appear desiring in any way, even to the old-fashioned and nostalgic at heart. On the other hand, the Good Grip has an amazing design with a parallelogram body and stylish in silver and black leather. The CoolPix series have been designed by Nikolay Komarov and it is thus surprising that one designer can produce a beautiful design like the Good Grip when he shows lack of talent on another design.

Tech-wise, the CoolPix series have some cool features that would appeal to any fan of photography. The Good Grip has a new user interface that may make things easier for users. Pricing of the models are not available yet.

The Paillard Bolex H8 Military gun is a weapon that you wouldn’t want to choose when you are in danger, because instead of shooting bullets this gun can only shoot videos. With a camera attached, the gun was apparently made for a Vietnam War reporter. The rare gun would definitely have placed the reporter in more trouble instead of helping him out of a dangerous situation. The camera attached has 5x lenses so you would be able to shoot some pretty good pics with this little weapon.

The rare Paillard Bolex H8 Military gun is available with case on eBay for anyone with the right amount, which just happens to be $1,318. Just remember if you are thinking of taking pictures of celebrities with this camera, body guards tend to beat people up and ask questions later.

German camera maker Leica has had the world drop its jaw on occasions more than one. Well, this is warning for yet one more. The brand has come up with a limited Safari edition of its so admired M8.2 digital camera. After all, famous clickety-click folks like Henri Cartier Bresson, Diane Arbus and Nan Goldin are among its clientele!

So far only 500 pieces of this collection are available across the world at a price of $10,000. We find that the cam comes equipped with a 28mm F2.8 Summicron lens, that too in a matching canvas and leather camera bag for times when you don’t want to be bothered by the extra weight of your fave toy.

Photography enthusiasts will be glad to learn that the 10.3 million pixel M8.2 is actually an upgraded version of the old M8, which, by the way, is Leica’s first digital rangefinder camera. Its prototype was auctioned off last summer. It’s a great camera for keeps. We love the matte green vulcanite finish body that’s topped with silver accents and a saddle leather strap.

A new techie gadget is presented to the world almost on a daily basis now. Their usability is sometimes questioned but not that of Parrot’s Specchio. A Wi-fi enabled digital picture frame designed by Parisian Martin Szekely is sure to draw attention.

So, now you can easily get your photos onto the frame using your home wireless network. The functioning is quite uncomplicated. All you have to do is hold your phone against the frame to transfer the images. In other words, you can email pis to the frame using your PC or cellphone or from online picture galleries like Flickr. Then there is also the Bluetooth NFC standard.

And abolutelty no one can ignore the shiny-ness of the frame enabling it to even double up as a mirror.

Well from the looks of the market sales, I don’t think Specchio is in stock. In that case you can try an equally cool frame designed by Andr�e Putman for $5 less than Specchio at $450.
